Former World Champion? When did this match take place?! I didn't even hear about it! Here are the World Championship matches I know about going back, and nowhere does his name appear:
Anand - Kramnik 2008
Kramnik - Topalov 2006
Kramnik - Leko 2004
Kramnik - Kasparov 2000
Kasparov - Anand 1995
Kasparov - Short 1993
Kasparov - Karpov 1990
Kasparov - Karpov 1987
Okay, we're going back before Kasimdzhanov's time here, but this is the list of the most recent batch of World Championship matches.
@IgnatzKolisch from 1993 to 2006, there were 2 differentr "sets" of world championships, as there was a division in the international chess federation FIDE. Rustam Kasimdzhanov won the FIDE world championship in 2004, while the games you are listing are known as "classical" world championships. check wikipedia under "world chess championships"
I know about that supposed history, but it's BS. There has been only one World Champion at any time for well over 100 years. The end. No debate, no argument can change this. Saying "FIDÉ World Champion" to me is the same as saying "World Open World Champion". You can call yourself "world champion", but that doesn't make it so, when the crown is sitting on another person's head.
To become champ, you have to seize the crown, and there's only one crown. Worthless now, though, IMO.
How about some Chessbase DVDs from GM Murray Chandler or GM Ian Rogers ? They are both excellent with there instruction, combined with Chessbase great production values, these would be bestsellers !
