  • im aboriginal and i thought that was funny as . as long as its funny i dont give a fuck go ellen.

  • LOL this woman is HILARIOUS!!

  • Haha, that woman makes me laugh! :D

PS: Traditionally, the didgeridoo is not allowed to be played by females.

  • Also (definitely random and unrelated), in my tenth grade science class, my teacher asked the class what the capital of Australia was. Everyone, including the smartest kid in the class, said "Sydney". My teacher agreed. I was the only one who knew that it was Canberra but I didn't have the heart to tell them that.

  • @AllTimeAshemo Then you're welcome past the border. Everyone else can fck off!

  • @itslexkatz Lmfao, thank you! I definitely plan on visiting. If I ever get accepted for a work visa I'd definitely move there. :)

  • @AllTimeAshemo good on ya mate

  • @blusuck Thank you! :) And I'm laughing about the ice hockey thing. To be honest, I suck at it, but I like it too. I don't really watch it on TV though. :$ And I'm really starting to hate the cold. I must be the worst Canadian ever.

  • I knew which country it was when it landed on it. And I know about the "drop bear". Maybe it's because I'm Canadian and I know how to use the internet.

  • @AllTimeAshemo woooooo ice hockey fuck i love ice hockey i know fuckall about it but i love ice hockey

  • gahhhh they forgot to mention the most deadliest animal: drop bears.... you gotta watch out for those things

  • @TheGrinchsmate You don't get the point do you? To you yes it is just that. But not to the people who created it to be a celebratory instrument. Open. Your. Mind.

  • ahahh she sounded like a elephant!:)

  • @loodles7 not really what? oh i see yeah great point. If your gonna reply to my comment please specify

  • Its traditional in Aboriginal that the didgeridoo is played only by men.

  • She wants more nuts for her Birthday...Hmmmm i'm confused : /

  • does ellen realise that woman shld not play the didgeridoo...... they say woman cnt get pregnant once they play it....

  • @jonastwilightgurls so silly

  • when she trys and plays the didgeridoo iit sounds like her sex noises

  • didgeridoo = birth of dubstep

  • It's bad luck for a woman to play a didgeridoo, forbidden in Aboriginal culture....apparantly. I'm not Abooriginol but I am Australian.

  • @MyAndo123 I'm Australian also and as far as I'm concerned its a hollowed out piece of wood... I'm female and I'll play a hollowed of piece of wood until my heart's content.

  • @joneen13 - Y R A C************T

  • @joneen13 Wonderful show of disrespect for Aboriginal culture on your part then. Hollowed out piece of wood? Wow. Where did you buy your narrow mind?

  • @Hudsigar but it is just a hollow bit of wood

  • Omg just calm down and have a laugh. not as if she would know women don't play the didgeridoo... She's just an American who's trying to have a laugh and not take anything too seriously.

  • bahaha from an auzzie that was pretty funny with her playing the didgeridoo

  • Holy fuck, if her IQ was any lower she'd need watering. How the hell is this woman actually respected? I mean....people actually WATCH this shit?

  • She Sounds Like A Dieing Elephant.

  • of course she makes australia day about her -.- *sigh* americans

  • Australia is a racist country.

  • @Cakerolled Fuck off

  • @Cakerolled isn't that a racist comment? fuckwit

  • @Cakerolled why you say that?

  • @Cakerolled i agree with you lols xD

  • All hail queen Portia

  • cringing the whole time Ellen plays the digerdoo ( for those who don't know, it is a massive sign of disrespect for a woman or someone who is not Aboriginal to play it) I think she should have done more reseach...

  • Why did Nicole Kidman get shot in the arse for playing a didgeridoo, and yet this person playing it and also making fun of it, it is deemed to be OK???

  • Found by England. Stolin from aboriginals. And sorry Ellen in Aboriginal cultur girls can't play the didgeridoo

  • @Bigfulla27 I hate it when aboriginals say "Whites stole our land!", the land was there before fuckin' people were there, so technically it wasn't "THEIR" land. But still, Australia day is celebrating the day Captain Cook killed 100's of Aboriginals which is pretty say.

  • @Bigfulla27

    stolen... weak as piss mate.

  • @Bigfulla27 I don't agree with that kind of gender segregation. Sorry about that.

  • @Bigfulla27 Stolen? They lost their country like every country that came before them in history that couldn't defend themselves.

  • Alright, I'm fine with jokes and all, and a hater of political correctness, but I couldn't help but find the digeridoo thing a bit disrespectful. Women shouldn't even be playing digeridoo's, and I just thought it was a bit rude the extent she went with the joke.

And before you start saying anything, no, I haven't got a drop of Aboriginal blood in my veins. I'm also not one to promote let's-turn-this-country-back-to-Aboriginality (no offence anyone), but I do have a certain respect for them.

  • I love ellen but i hate this video. Its so disrespectful to our indigenous Australians, a woman playing the digeridoo, really? I hate the way other countries think of us, their stupid stereotypes.

  • Fuck off ellen we have other things than didgeridoo's and boomerangs u fucking idiot. Its not racist but its an ignorant generalization of a country she knows fuck all about. And yes your TV show is still shitty in australia. Fuck sake

  • @Billhicksftw not really mate.

  • So much for my prediction.

  • I read the description as the video starts and I see 'Australian Items'

Oh god. Vegemite is being brought out isn't it?

  • oh ellen, you crazy b*tch, we love you so.... and don't worry... no one i know can play the derigibal either... derigibal? deribadal? digerai?..... well yeah you get it

  • It wasnt funny, nor was it offensive. Some white people think it is their duty to point out and cry racist after so many years of discrimination of our indigenous..

  • I'm an Aboriginal person and us women don't play the Didgeridoo. I don't take "offence" I guess. However it does take you back a bit when you have been raised that women don't play and your watching another woman play. But how was Ellen to know I guess.

  • This is not offensive! This is just incredibly unfunny hahaha

  • bloody hell...we are aussies, for fucks sake lighten up!

we never used to be so PC...

  • i know women who play the didgeridoo relax people

  • AUSTRALIA MFKRFTW! <3

  • are you guys for real? THIS IS A COMEDY SKIT. I'm Australian, we make jokes about america all the time, don't act like we're innocent. Honestly, Ellen may not know about only men playing the didgeridoo. Make sure your hand is clean before you start pointing fingers

  • AUSTRALIA FTW !!

  • People here need to harden the fuck up.

  • When Ellen's playing the didgeridoo, she sounds like a dying elephant. Just saying. No disrespect.

  • i laughed my ASS OFF!!, too funny.

  • it's disgusting how ignorant people are of the aboriginal culture. traditionally women NEVER play the didgeridoo... however they don't play ellen in the doll office so none of the boongs saw this

  • Okay, CALM DOWN EVERYONE. In America, a lot of people make jokes. People don't usually take these jokes seriously, thus the title "joke". Ellen was making JOKES about Australia. She wasn't trying to belittle it. When Americans laugh, they aren't trying to belittle it. In fact, a lot of us (myself included) have great respect for Australia and most Australians. We're not trying to be racist, and we don't want to be offensive. I know that wasn't Ellen's intent.

  • It's so weird how he keeps shaking the check as he speaks...

  • Being an Australian, I don't take offense to it either. But, it's amazing how Ellen can get on the t.v. and make a joke of our native culture playing the didgeridoo and there's no uproar, but hey hey it's saturday made news all over the U.S. from the Jackson 5 skit. The U.S. media starts making hypocritical comments labeling an entire country as "racist"

  • I don't take offence to this, although the bit where she played Didgeridoo would be offensive to alot of indigenous australians, as only men are allowed to play it.

  • Is it just me, or is Ellen's didgeridoo technique very similar to the way she speaks whale?

Also, I love Ellen. I'm an Aussie too... I don't understand why people are offended. She's a champ!

  • As an australian i take no offence to this, Anyone that does is fucking retarded!

  • if only if we had cups like that in Australia XD

  • God, chill the fuck out everyone. It was a joke. I'm Australian and I found the didgeridoo part hilarious, as well as the "boomerang cup". Calm down, for christ's sake, and get over yourselves.

  • PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE THAT IF ANYTHING, PEOPLE WERE LAUGHING AT ELLEN AND NOT AUSTRALIA.

  • @JaiChan69

I'm Australian too and so what if she married an 'Australian'? :S

Was Ellen playing the didgeridoo even funny? Hardly.

  • I didn't find this funny at all for once on this show. The audience laughs at how she fails to play the didgeridoo? No, that's not funny. Offensive actually.

  • I find it funny that they cry about Australians being racist yet find this funny, double standards much? Also I laughed, a decent amount. Not a lot but a decent amount.

  • Pretty bloody funny if I do say so myself. Yeah, everyone is right about the women not playing didgeridoo thing, and I'm sure Ellen got lots of angry mail about it.

  • Women aren't supposed to play it

  • Hi Ellen ummmm I hope you realise that Women are not able to play the Digerido and I am very sure your wife should have known this as most Australians know dah!!!!

  • at least she recongised we exsisted

  • man they seem like zombies hearing girls screaming at nothing just spastic shit i hope some1 runs in their and shoots em all

  • 1:46 when it landed on Australia the audience went silent because they had no fucking idea what country it was haha! Ahh gotta love Americans...

  • @northsoutheastwest19 rightful owners ? where would you fuckers be with out us ? go stab something with a spear fuckhead

  • its not racist but it is very disrespectful for a female to play the didgeridoo towards the Aboriginal people

  • haha nice try ellen, nice try. Maybe you should enter a band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think a boomerang coffee cup is pretty funny. I'm Australian, I wish I had a boomerang cup.

  • Comment removed

  • So when jokes likes these are made I can't help but think a not insignificant portion of the audience may laugh but not have next to know understanding of the truth. Of course my comments are generalisations and don't hold true of all Amercians, like any country the population is very diverse and I can speak to the very friendly nature of most Americans I've met on my several visits over the years. The distorted view I've found works both ways.

  • unlike alot of people on here I'm technically Australian but have no special love for the place, I love living here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else but I'll be among the first to point out its many many many problems. What actually bothers me most about this clip is that as a whole Americans (by which I'm actually referring to people from the United States of, and not Canadians or Mexicans) are known for having a poor knowledge of the rest of the world.

  • is this called humour. i cried

  • I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, I do love Ellen and everything but as a proud Australian this made me a little uncomfortable. :/

  • @ockstar

    :/ awkward for everyone.

  • Fuck this! I'm australian and

    She's making

Australia look like a joke! Australia is a nice country to live in and I must admit I'm in Melbourne and sport is the main reason I love this country, but this whore is like all other Americans. Racist and all people in America do Is kill each other with guns and create gang wars. What a fucked

    Up country is america

  • This show is fucking stupid.

  • Soooooooo. I'm from Australia... Just thought you ought to know.

  • @HamishandOllie so are half the people on here lol. half attacking ellen the other half defending her.

  • isnt it disrepesctful for a woman to playa digereedoo

  • @101sbailey yes but she didnt know that x

  • @101sbailey it is for some indiginous tribes, it is absolutely forbidden for a woman to play one, however not for all

  • I hate racists and this sheila.

  • @mediumawlful and we hate you. grow up!

  • @ockstaar You hate me 'cos I hate racists?????

    Are you in the KKK?

  • how racist can this bitch get?

  • @chuckles222 God I hate people who claim EVERYTHING and EVERYONE is racist. Get over yourself and learn to tolerate a bit of fun, something that we Australians are known for.

  • @Aussiegirl265 and i hate people who generalise entire nations into unfounded stereotypes.

  • @chuckles222 Oh so you're an Australian who can't handle a slight breach of political correctness. That's fine, to each their own...just realise that different countries/cultures may not understand or even know of each others forms of political correctness.

  • @Aussiegirl265 i fail to see how racism is subjective.

  • @chuckles222 shes not a bitch! and its not racist! shes having fun and obviously no one told her that its offensive for a female to play! Get off your high horse!

  • @ockstaar it's not racist because she's a woman, it's racist because she's belittling a culture she knows nothing about.

  • hahaha the didgeridoo was hilarious!! sounds like an elephant! and i dont no why everyone is getting so pissed off. who cares. shes not australian shes just havign fun

  • @ockstaar Everyone is getting pissed of because as an Australian, I know and respect the traditions of an Indigenous Australian. They were settled in Australia before 'white Australians' and therefore feel as though they have already had their lives ruined by one part of the world and if they were to watch this, they would feel the same - devastated and disgusted that a famous person would muck around with their tradition.

  • @Umpi4life um we all know and respect them. but this is just a bit of fun and Australians are known for their laid back chilled out personalities. It wasnt like she was sitting there bagging out our country. MAYBE she doesnt know that a female playing is offensive. Maybe no one informed her. everyone needs to take a chill pill. elephant defines your purpose? wth.

  • @ockstaar Oh, and for you to say that it sounds like an elephant defines my purpose.

  • As an Australian I think this crosses the line. That didgeridoo part is really offensive to the Aboriginal Australians.

  • :S I don't know what to think of this, i can take people paying out on white Australian culture and people but it's just a little bit...odd she would play the Didgeridoo. If any Aboriginal Australian watched this they would be utterly offended its horrible disrespectful.

  • This crowd will cheer at anything.

  • What were the audience actually laughing at?

  • Fuck are all americans this dumb...

  • jeez ppl gotta settle the fuck down. I'm Aussie and honestly I find this funny, I mean it wouldn't make much sense for her to actually be mean to us, since she did MARRY an Australian. XD

  • bit offended -_-

  • K, Ellen.

  • @MADMANx511 taking the piss is an important part of australian culture!

  • go fuck yourself ellen, why dont you self indulged people talk about something you know(which is fuck all) instead of trying to be funny by disrespecting another country's culture. its not even fucking funny anyway, how is watching an idiot pretend to attempt to play an instrument funny?

  • @mbarnicott what's offensive is your language!! you're scum

  • i'll never understand why american mainstream comedy is funded on the ignorance and disregard of other world cultures. has anyone else ever wondered that? "oh, she can't pronounce didgeridoo on purpose, that's hilarious", etc.

  • People actually find this funny?

  • i kinda get the impression that ellen does like australia!

and amercians please learn how to say Australia!

    its so annoying!

  • i think this is the first timei havent found ellen funny :/

  • It's simple, American's shouldn't talk about something they have no idea about

And the people getting offended need to harden the fuck up, so they can bash that lesbian's skull in (:

  • her wife should have warned her about this. although i dont think its that bad because i get why she wouldnt be able to play it but she shouldnt have went there.

  • Wow, Americans have a really skewed view of Australia.

  • Australians who are getting offended are no better then these Ignorant fucks, Americans.....

Can't you see she did this out of pure ignorance.... it can only be expected by the USfags

  • Wow Ellen. That was really quite disrespectful. Plenty of Australian people do watch Ellen, and plenty would have found this mildly offensive. I'm an anglosaxon australian however i still found it offensive that ellen attepmted to play the didgeridoo, and it wasn't even a genuine attempt, it was just for cheap laughs. I really admire Ellen and all she does, but this made me quite uncomfortable.

  • i dont care, but if we took an American cultural item like they have done here to Australia's didgeridoo. and disrespected like ellen did. fox news would be calling us Australians racist.

  • To all the people claiming "waah aboriginal's crying over the didge"

Meh. They can deal with it.

  • No one in Australia watches this shit!

  • @dreadly101 Actually, I'm an Aussie :P

I just came to see the train slowly coming off the rails, though.

  • hahahaha, she sounds like an elephant!

  • "exposing her loving parts to the world"

  • If it was so offensive for women to play didgeridoos, they wouldn't have classes where tourists can make their own! Anyone can buy/play didgeridoos! Unless you're aboriginal, get over it and enjoy the video

  • ellen plays the didgeridoo like a pro

  • Does anyone on television say 'God is just a make-believe character just like Santa and the Easter bunny. Made up by some small, closed minded person to explain the things in the universe he couldnt.' Huh, isnt this funny? No one does! Because that would be 'racist' toward's any religion that actually believes in that bullshit they call god. So shut the fuck up you dumbfuck, and go back to school. You obviously dont know anything about the world.

  • Oh wow! Look at all these white supremacist in the comments! Never mind. Most of you are probably 12 year old kids behind your computer screens trying to sound tough. People are only angry because she didnt respect a tradition that has been passed down for 50 thousand years!. Yet you say its sexist? Do you call Burqa's sexist, because only women wear them? No! Because thats a tradition.

  • @XXiNeedANameXX Of course Burqas are sexist! As is the "tradition" of women not being allowed to play the didgeridoo. Sexism is a very old tradition in all parts of the world. That doesn't make it right.

  • I doubt Ellen knew that women are not supposed to play the didge. Offense was not intended. It's not about being sexist its about culture and tradition. We are one of the oldest surviving culures in the world because we continue to practice and preserve it. If people want to reference aust aboriginal culture please do some research on it first, from an aboriginal women who doesn't play the didge

  • women are not aloud to play the DIDERIDOO,

its offensive to australias and aboriginals.

i love you ellen, but theres a little information for you haha.

    xx

  • fuck off ellen ya dog fucker

  • I love it, i love ellen and yeah,

  • @TheCragboar Wow, that's extremely racist of you. Not to mention that you are stereotyping and generalizing not one but two cultures. Get a sense of humour!

  • Australians and Americans are the dumbest white people.

  • @TheCragboar And you are the dumbest YouTube commenter

  • Thank you ellen for being the only American who doesnt say Australia is Rascist and Australia should burn in hell thank you, your a wonderful woman!

  • I'm aussie, and who cares if she played a didgeridoo... don't get all high and mighty about your Aboriginal culture, go burn our fucking flag again pieces of shit

  • @yapelican mate you really have some problems that you have to sought out. You are in no position to say something like that. either respect the greatest country on the face of the earth (and its rightful owners) or get the hell out of it. There is no place for people like you in Australia if that the real view you have

  • @northsoutheastwest19 Actually, much of Aboriginal culture is offensive to modern sensibilities. Progress means leaving behind old ways of thinking. Sorry, primitive cultures are racist, sexist, and offensive. A woman playing a didgeredoo is "offensive" but you not worshipping Allah is "offensive" to Muslims. So how far do you wanna take this respecting cultures thing? Honour killings are tradition too, should we "respect" that?

  • @anyvainlegend There are left wing, extremist from all cultures, Not only Islam/Aboriginal Culture. Westboro Baptist Chuch is a prime example, Theyre hardcore 'Christians' yet everyone wants to take a step back from them? Its the same with Muslim extremist ect. Most children brought up in a good house, good family, and a good childhood, wont become an extremist, and try and distance themself from them. Yet racist fucks like you only see what the media pumps into your small, one sided mind.

  • @TheSethIkrass your a cock head, i am aboriginal and it is totally againest a women to play it and has nothing do with being sexist you cock, go talk shit about what ever you do

  • im a didgeridoo and i find this offensive

  • @tomisback94 Why? You just got blown by a chick.

Normally, you're stuck to being blown by men ;)

  • Ummm women arent aloud to play the digeridoo unless u get premisson from ur elder

  • @pure599 only if you're Aboriginal.

Like women only have to wear a burkha when they're MUSLIM.

    Think before you speak

  • Playing the didgeridoo is highly offensive; if any woman had done it on Australian TV you can imagine the court case.

  • Hahaha why are so many peole whinging so much? She didn't say or do anything offensive, and she never intended on being offensive by playing the didgeridoo. She's a comedian, it was a joke, get over it.

  • Err...why should I respect something as sexist as 'women can't play the didgeridoo?' Juts because it's a traditional religious thing doesn't mean it's not sexist.

  • @katrinalisa2002 It's out of respect for another cultures belief that women don't play the didgeridoo...plus Ellen was mocking the instrument by not playing it properly and waving it around.

  • @MsErindoyle I'm Australian, so I know it's a traditional aboriginal belief. It's still sexist, and it doesn't apply to women who are not aboriginal anyway.

  • @katrinalisa2002 no i'm pretty sure it still does apply to non-Aboriginal women (ie there was that controversy about Nicole Kidman playing a didgeridoo on a German television show in 2008)

  • I am Australian and this whole dancing around the issue about aboriginals is BS. Just because it is offensive to Aboriginals if women play the didgeridoo doesn't take away from the more civilized and current position that that is a sexist cultural nuance and fuck them if they are offended.

    <
