Messi is a great role model for young players. When good players get nicked by a slide tackle they'll fake it and fly dramatically through the air. While Messi, if you watch him play, will keep going. Like the smart thing to do, instead of hoping for a foul call, which sometimes doesn't happen! He is my favorite player because of his skill, works well with his teams, PASSES, and can suck up a bump.
barcelona need to put some body close to messi so they can push foward together every time messi get push he lose the ball cuz no body help messi cuz he run too fast for them :D

Chelsea played defensively and tightly.
And Cole was not the only one who marked Messi. Also other defenders helped him.
But.
How many times they could take the ball from Messi? Maybe 3 times.
In all other moments Messi keep the ball in his feet or with his team.
And A.Cole even tried to use sliding tackles few times. But still Messi keeped the ball in his feet, and Cole was on the grass.
Alex tried to use sliding tackle - yellow card.

For example - Rubin. The match in Kazan (0-0). Or Numancia (Barca lost 0-1).

its not becouse of style, but becouse of positions where play Messi and
CRonaldo (attacking midfielder, winger, forward).
By the way Iniesta does not have mind of an attacker. He never try to score a goal (or at least very rarely). Even if u put him on the left winger position or left forward. He never shots. Even if it is the way to score he will give a pass. And Messi is alot more attaking and agressive player in his mind.

When i said better finisher i mean, last complete season showed: Messi scored almost every third shot. And Ronaldo almost every seventh shot.
Just for example, last complete season in CL:
Ronaldo ~ 30-35 shots. Scored 4 goals.
Messi ~ 25 shots. Scored 9 goals.

It is due to the fact that messi always shoot within penalty area. His team has players like xavi and iniesta to support him.But contrary to it ronaldo doesn't have players like xavi for assists and also if Ronaldo shoots 30-35 then 25 of it comes from outside penalty area.This is the reason in last CL

U underestimate players of Man United. They play combinative football. By the way Berbatov have great last pass, and Scholes and Anderson, and Giggs. And i watched their games last season. Ronaldo have many chances from penalty box. So thats not the reason.
Also he LIKES to shot from distance. If he dont know what to do, he shots (sometimes he doesnt see perfect oportunitites where he should to give pass instead of shooting). Thats the main reason.

Castrol showed that Messi little bit better in it, BUT they didnt show who risks more often. Its very important, becouse if u dont risk u can have better passing stats, but also u dont create much opportunities. As for me Messi risks more often then CR, and give many risky passes to create something dangerous, but still his passing stats better. Thats also makes much difference.

To demonstrate what I mean, I was the best dribbler at school, but came third & fourth in 100 m sprints. In the first 50 m I used to be in the first place and then other 2 athletes used to over take me. In football it's all about the first 10 paces where Messi rules.

change of pace is more vital than pace. It's common sense for a footballer as most of battles between an attacker and a defender are decided within the first five seconds. Top speed counts a lot in counter attack football, but acceleration counts in all types of strategies in my opinion.

I was just reading a weekly German publication, they stated that Ronaldo topped the speed charts at 33.6km per hour (20.88mph).
Arjen Robben comes in second at 32.9 kmph, Theo Walcott of Arsenal (32.7) and Wayne Rooney of Man United (32.6). Arsenal striker Robin van Persie was fifth at 32.1kmph.
