  • Based on watching the tech changing tires, I am not surprised there have been issues. He did not mount the cone on the clamping devise properly, selected a "normal" setting on the tire instead of the currently recommended "sport" selection and then never lubricated the beads for easier dismount. While it might not have been needed, no assistance was given to guide the upper bead into the well prior to upper bead tool insertion. All of these techniques can cause some issues. Contact JBC

  • @MrTimTipton The upper bead pulls itself down into the drop center when the bead hook pulls it away from the wheel. Our main problem had nothing to do with technique. What would happen is the plastic bead break rollers would explode when trying to break beads on run flats (which we get a lot being a Toyota shop since AWD Siennas are equipped with RFTs.)

    We've had the two Bosch machines for a while now. They're faster and more reliable... Just have to work instead of button-push.

  • @SentryIII When you insert the upper bead tool, you're supposed to push the other side down into the well. On run flats it is helpful to pause the automatic function and use the foot pedal to rotate the assembly. Then raise the lower roller a bit and turn some more. Consider on a european sytle changer how you have to reposition the breaker...some times it takes patience. Once again, possible technique could be improved on. Did you have a JBC service tech or rep observe and train the users?
