this is a pretty cool guitar, I have one on sale on ebay for 200, can really get great tones out of this thing. if anybody would like to check it out go to ebay and search for "Fender Squire Hot rails deluxe Strat White"
i have the same guitar as well... great tone as well, but i've modified the bridge to a SD little '59 to have a bit of humbucking tone combo... great guitar for the price. rock on... BR & God bless
then again there are some mexican strats that are mad good. mexican maple fretboard strats i think play really well. and there are also some rosewood fretboard strats from mexico that play really well also (maple necks are so much better in my opinion) but yeah youre right. there are some mexican strats that suck. but not all.
I just got one of these.. The same one in the video. White with maple neck.. Absolutely love it and yes I would pick this over many of the Fender Mex. I work at a guitar center and I can tell you I have to go through many of the Fender Mex to find a good one.. Not so with the Squier Deluxe model.. Great finish, hardware and tuners. Save some dough and get one of these. Only complaint is they only have 2 colors but the white is growing on me.. might ad a tortoise pick-guard later.. : )
Thanks for showing this guitar, man. I think Your play is very brilliant. I had Usa fender telecaster and mexican fender. But I sold those because I am originally bassist. look for same guitar as yours. Very nice! I like that tone.
I work at Guitar Center and we got a used one in last night... Mint cond.. I played with it for about a half hour and man are you right.. This plays and sounds in par with the american Strats. I am not a white fan for color but I got to have it because it played so nice.. Reg price of around $280.00 is a steal for this.. If you find one used for allot less better grab it cause you wont be sorry... : )
QUESTION, HELP PLEASE... Speaking of th qualitiy of the sound, which squier strat is the best? the standard, deluxe, vintage, classic vibe? I don´t care for any other thing but the quality of the sound. So, speaking of squiers... which is the one?
@hungerstriker27 The squire bullets sound like crap.. The Affinity's actually sound pretty good (ceramic pups) very warm and bluesy but are weak on volume.. The standards use Analco 5's and are way to bright fr my taste and I mean glass bright! The classic vibes use a analco 3 pup & sound something like between the bright and jazz/blues sounds.. The Classic Vibes are not bad at all. The best sound of all of them is the Delux.. Perfect because of the best build quality & sound from Seymour Dunks.
That´s the one I have. My bro has one of the vintage modified series with the same PU. But the best finishes are in the deluxe in my opinion. I think it´s the best squier guitar, pretty decent for the money. I agree, the bullets are crap. But squier actually has good guitar specially for the money, the deluxe, classic vibe and modified. I love my deluxe. And the daphne blue, actually looks more than the fender sonic blue which is awesome.
@hungerstriker27 I got my hands on a Squire Standard for awhile. It was gorgeous (cherry burst) I was let down when I plugged it in.. It was way to bright for me. I like a warm sound but I know sound is very subjective.. Anyway I also learned they put 500k tone pots in them and I think that was the problem. If I would have kept it I am sure if I had changed the pots it would have been fine..
Great demo...thanks!...I recently got a Squier Standard Strat..and love it! It plays better than the Mexican Strats and the fit and finish is remarkable, Ive heard that the Indonesian Squiers are the best , it has AlNico pups, and is a little more jangley than the Deluxe but sounds great...check ou STICHFAMS post on the Standard, best kept secret.....love...poppa
Fender pretty much is utilizing their overseas companies. To build a lot of their stuff now adays to keep costs down. I'm not putting down their overseas operations. I have quite a few guitars and amps from China. The quality control is great. I just think to keep costs down in this economy alot of their stuff is going to come from their Mexico and Asia operations. About two years ago my last purchase was a Squier 50's vibe strat. I was shocked and amazed by the q.c. and tone.
@usetheforce93 I was referring to the mexican standards of today. My particular guitar is better than any of the mexican standards I have played... and that has always been the case... no matter where I play them. I'm not saying that every squier deluxe is going to be better... b/c squier is hit and miss... but this guitar looks, feels, plays, and sounds great.
@pedalheadgeardemos i have a £150 / $200 ishh, squire tele. i much preferred it to the £400 / $500 Mexican tele I played, just personal preference i surpose but it really prefered it, im thiking now of a replacement for my ibanez S670FM, might go to a strat, maybe the hotrails deluxe, what can you recomend though?
@pedalheadgeardemos the thing is i really like the look of the squire strat, but being a fairly expirienced player i would rather go for something i know i will keep, hence getting one that i dont have to swap out the pickups on. ive never been mad about fenders but im getting pulled towards their guitars more and more recently. how much would the set of fender singles
@kona6495 you can go on ebay and probably get a set for around $130-$150. I got a set of texas specials for my tele for $120... changed the entire ballgame for that guitar.
@pedalheadgeardemos sweet, i just found a white standard strat for under £400 so that looks promising, i realy could do with trying some for myself now
@pedalheadgeardemos thts wat i did with mine. i put some CS 69's and a toneshaper in miine and it just sounds lovely. all togther with the guitar, i probally spent 600 bucks and it sounds a hell of alot better thn those mexican strats and if not better thn a american standard
@pedalheadgeardemos Squier means made in asia and thats all. I had a mexi strat... wasnt all that great. Then bought an indo/asian made strat... far better then the mexis. Dont get caught up in the name on the head stock. Why would anyone spend 800-grand on an american standard strat.. when you can get some damn good quality strats through the squier series. The squier deluxe and the classic vibe strats are great guitars for $350.00 and under...
@pedalheadgeardemos Hahaha I understand you when you say crappy crate amp, I have a Crate G80XL and it sounds like shit, but I ordered a Fender Mustang II I hope it sounds better.
@usetheforce93 this squier is made in indonesia. well mine is. its really made quite well. plus it has rounded edges. its a better buy thn a MIM strat IMO. i think the MIM strat pickups are to bright and are just not made tht well. idk. but yea i have to say the squier deluxe strat s a beter guitar than the MIM strat
@usetheforce93 - The Squier guitars are usually made by machine in Indonesia, sometimes Korea if you can find them. Fender Mexican made or American made are said that they are made by hand from the Fender factory. I do prefer Squiers to be honest and I have owned an American and Mexican start before. I think they are better made and better value. Every guitar you buy is going to need work no matter where it comes from.
@bodom71 I've been thinking of looking at some strats. I want to know are they comfortable to play? And is it easy to shred on? I'm not much of a shredder, but I try, and i have played guitars with bolt on necks and smaller frets similar to that of a strat, and it was impossible to get a solo on. Even someting as simple as metallica's nothing else matters solo.
@usetheforce93 Yes u can shred on a strat, don't let anyone tell you that it can't be done. It all depends on what you are playing through. Get a cheap distortion pedal that will really kick the metal side of the strat. If you look into some of Metallica's older vids and concert footage Kirk Hammett is sporting strats in some shots whether it be his ESP strat or his Fender's in which he has both.
@usetheforce93 - The Squier guitars are usually made by machine in Indonesia, sometimes Korea if you can find them. i got my squier deluxe in white and ordered the texas special pickups and a toneshper. this thing sounds so hot and full. its a awesome guitar for the money. spent about 600 bucks for the guitar and PU's and toneshaper. sounds better than any american strat or smericn deluxe strat for tht matter. beautiful guitar
@slash4897 I've never played a classic vibe strat... so I can't say. I love this strat... it blows a lot of my friends "made in mexico" standard strats away and it was like $300 cheaper! I'll have to head to a guitar center and check out a classic vibe (I'd better bring my allen wrenches and screwdriver though b/c GC is NOTORIOUS for bad setups!)
i really want a guitar like this, and i love the sound strats have with the single coils. but i just bought a greg bennett av3 for $400 and it will be a while before i buy another guitar. good demonstration, and i love the guitar. :)
@pedalheadgeardemos depends what type of heavy metal though. i mean it's good for iron maiden, motorhead, motley crue, but i wouldn't play lamb of god or something like that on a strat
@MaRmOtTi123 true... I wasn't thinking of that kind of heavy metal... more like what you'd hear when you walk into guitar center and see "THAT GUY" with a schecter guitar in front of a CRATE or PEAVY and the distortion is like ALL THE WAY UP and it's mostly power chords and drop D.
very good guitar....if you put some lace sensor or noiseless in it..you really can make a better guitar than an real fender american:D...a guitar close to 1500$
How bad is the buzz on these pickups on a mid to high gain setting? Because i'm either looking at getting this or a classic vibe 50's, since my gibson and ibanez have no single coils, and i love strats. (:
@dmyers93 I actually don't have a lot of hum/buzz when I have higher gain stuff on. I run my compressor, boost, and overdrive all at once and it is still pretty quiet. not completely noiseless... but pretty quiet. I don't normally run anything SUPER distorted... except a fuzz, so I may not be the person to ask.
@gtnick314 um... the bullet strats by squier have basswood... and they sound like an icepick to the ears. it's a combination of the wood, the pickups, and the electronics that bring about the tone.
@akhtab94 the pickups are actually quieter than you would think. they aren't tinny or too bright. they actually handle overdrive really well. don't know too much about how it would sound with full on distortion, b/c I rarely ever use it. They probably are going to sound like any strat with distortion.
@pedalheadgeardemos Yeah, you're right. I have this guitar (in pearl white metallic, like yours) and I can tell you it's SUPER noisy with distortion kicked up. It sounds better more clean, I think. It really is a lovely guitar. You tell people that you have a Squier and you get laughed at, but they know where they can shove their guitar snobbery [lol]. There's nothing wrong with this guitar. You don't have to put down a grand to get good sound. You get out of it what you put into it, ya know?
@22mrmusic that would probably be the pickup covers, vol & tone knobs and the pickguard. it looks kind of like a faded white in person. everything else is the real deal.
@theguitarplayer7 there are some stark differences between the affinity series strats and the deluxes. #1) affinity guitars have a slim profile while the deluxes actually have the normal strat dimensions. #2) the pickups in the deluxes are very smooth while the affinity is usually hit and miss, #3) the duncan designed pickups are EXTREMELY quiet when it comes to the normal single coil 60 cycle hum. that being said... it's all about preference. if it feels good to your hand... then it's good
I love how people are bashing this axe on GC and MF. please... For the cost... this is a fabulous guitar. I have a 250.00 ibanez and it put my mexi made strat to shame. Cheap means less money. If it feels/sounds good.. then who cares what the cost or name is on it. Hell..Paul Gilbert makes a living playing pawn shop cast offs..
I have to agree with miriamanneb , I went to the Squier site and the Squier Deluxe Stratocaster comes in either pearl white (has metal flake added to the paint) & daphine blue. I've been looking at both those guitars and trying to decide with color I like best. Both are very cool looking.
Is it really better than these Mexican made Strats? I had the last Classic 60 Strat in good memories so I can't say that say are bad. I felt that they sounded warmer and with more Sustain than American Standard Strats. I guess I shoud test this Squier Deluxe Strat in a local guitar shop.
cost 355 euro...

I read ina magazine that it had plastic parts on it to make it look vintage but what parts are plastic?
Love and peace

@22mrmusic that would probably be the pickup covers, vol & tone knobs and the pickguard. it looks kind of like a faded white in person. everything else is the real deal.

i play a squier affinity strat hss and the same amp, i wanna try this guitar to compare
theguitarplayer7 1 year ago

FACUNDO2213 1 year ago

These guitars are very nice.. $280.00 brand new... Puts the mexi made to shame..

I guess I shoud test this Squier Deluxe Strat in a local guitar shop.

yes. every mim strat I've played lets me down. poor tuners, bad necks & frets, too bright sounding pickups. These are really well made.
pedalheadgeardemos 2 years ago
i guess I should say mim standards. I didn't want to pay over $500.

These guitars retail for about $350 US, but you can get one for about $280 US. I bought mine on ebay for $150. good luck. it's an awesome strat.
