the situation in yangon/rangoon is beyond fucked right now. my dad works for the us embassy down there and his house guard (who's a burmese local) told him that when he goes home for the night he can't even sleep because he lives next to a reformatory school that's been converted into a makeshift prison for nuns and monks and he can hear people screaming in there.
