@ndc7 Could you tell me where this footage is from? I've been thinking to buy a DVD copy of the Live 8 footage but it would be nice since its only like 25 minutes long to find a version which also includes this rehearsal footage. Any ideas whether such a DVD exists?

Clearly, the reason why Waters has stayed away all these years is because he lost the ability to sing. Say what you will about his lyrics, but he sings like shit.

I understand that they wanted to do a gig all together after this at Glastonbury but was turned down because of their age, does anyone know if that was true? I'm a senior but family and friends definitely would not let age interfere with a great concert. Look at McCartney, Elton John etc. I would have loved it and I think true Floyd fans would have gone, hell or high water !!

Yes, Gilmore is the is the more gifted singer. Water's will even so himself...You actually seen roger waters in concert before (I mean over the past few years)? His voice is freaking incredible.

Actually Roger is still singing and recording songs from time to time.
