  • And yes - @hounddogjones IS an idiot!!!

  • SRV was OK but he wasn't god. I saw him a half a dozen times when I lived in Dallas - he was "on" once. Most of the other times it seemed he was just going thru the motions.

  • i think being called a SRV ripoff is one of the highest compliments a sixstringer could get.. thats just my opinion, if you dont like it tell your mom, cause i dont care.

  • Niether of these guys play or sound like SRV? They both have their own distinctive sound and technique. Their blues guitarplayer/singer/songwriter who have obviously spent countless hours developing their own sounds on guitar and vocals and definitely shows in their performance. Maybe your ear is not trained enough to hear the obvious differences.

-Billy Ray ( and yes it is my given name)

  • Ronnie Baker Brooks is NOT a SRV ripoff. Nick Moss is NOT an SRV ripoff. Neither is Melvin Taylor, Chainsaw DuPont, Toronzo Cannon, Super Chicken, Kent Burnside, Lindsey Alexander, Carl Weathersby, Lurrie Bell....These guys ARE SRV ripoffs.

  • @houndogjones CHOKE ON A DIZNICK AND DIE FAG

  • Almost looks like Joe B missed his queue at 4:26

  • @tim78704

it didnt? he meant to to that unless you're talking about something else :P

  • What song are they jammin...?

  • Thrill Is Gone - B.B. King

  • So tired of people saying all of today's blues players are SRV ripoffs. F*ck...it's like saying eveyrone who played basketball after Michael Jordan is a MJ ripoff. SRV plays a ton of Hendrix...is he a Jimi ripoff? No. If you listen to Joe and Wes, they both have their own style's. This stereotype is so ignorant.

  • Thank you for that sir

  • @b1234abcd Well dude, sorry but if it quacks like a duck it had a duck for a daddy......you're not a hack if you use your influences and take it somewhere else. B.B. King, Hendrix, Allman, Beck, and the like - there's a reason why they are the Mt. Rushmore.....all were influenced by older artists(bluemen, rock-a-billy guitarists, or chicken-pickers) but they took it somewhere else. Not so from these two in the video.

    Deal with it.

  • Frank Marino called to say all this "blows him off the stage" talk leads nowhere. Plus, it makes Ted Nugent cry.

  • The thing is, these guys are talented musicians and whether you like or dislike`em,the world of music would be a sad place without `em!

  • for all you mutha fuckers who critisize these killer players who ultimately want to keep the blues alive ... SRV is gone ....his music remains tho...and its up to these guys to keep it alive.....i saw and met wes 7/18 in a little millbrook watering hole.....let me tell ya he rock the sob......they are not trying to be SRV...... they are trying to be themselves........so fuck you ...

  • Lol jimmy Joe is a GREAT guy, and for you think that you must be the pr

ic . and secondly Joe is as great as he wants to be not some one style wonde,r know your shit before you flame cuzz you look like a fool with your post.

  • Joe IS a great guy and an incredible player! He has never been anything but cool to me and has schooled my ass many times.. This particular day he asked me to sit in right before the set without tellin me what we were gonna do..then to top it off Tyler Bryant gave me a TS9 with NO BATTERY in it! Talk about bringing a knife to a gunfight, haha!

Long story short, Joe is tha fuckin man!

  • have you ever met the straight edged mother fucker??? you guys dont know him like i do... and for madsbah, joe may have walked around talking to you for a few minutes but he's not your friend. come on... you really dont know him...

  • cooking notes thats bull shit wes jeans wil probably come to be the greatest guitarist that ever lived

  • I was sitting on the front row and this video's sound does not do any justice to either artists' performance. I have met both and hung out with both.

Both are super people and musicians!

  • Wes sounds like shit , Joe just blows him off stage .

  • The player on the B-3 is blistering good!!!!

  • Great !

  • Wes Jeans the best !

  • After Joe, that is.

  • Wes has something Joe Doesn't.... SOUL

  • At least Joe has been listening to someone else than Stevie Ray Vaughan :x

  • look, i've seen and met both joe and wes. joe is a prick to begin with. joe is a hell of a player but wes plays from the heart. joe is technicle with it. i really doubt you've been to either of their shows so dont try and correct me. lets not drag this out any longer

  • Thats kinda fun, 'cause Ive met Joe twice, and he was a pleasure to talk too. We even watched the other gigs at the festival together.

Wes is a SRV rip-off IMO.

  • i prefer JOE. and that man HAS soul !!! they both have

  • first of all, everyone who has played blues rock since srv has been called a rip off, both included. saying joe is a prick is fucking stupid, anyone who has ever talked to him after a show will back me up on that. second, they are both great, both have soul and both are technical, and obviously have high enough opinions of one another to play together,

  • I've seen you commenting on a lot of videos related to Wes and Joe, just to say negative crap like this, when nobody cares for your opinion in reality. So..... don't talk.

  • What an idiot.....its like saying that any one that writes a book is just ripping off the Alphabet!! You are truly clueless...

  • @houndogjones you are an idiot. STFU

I am a huge SRV fan and I have seen Joe several times. He has his own style, even when he does throw in licks from other players.

  • i wish the sound qualty was better but....thanks for posting.. Wes Jeans is a BAAAD Man!
