  • Babylon 5 will make a come back people......The when is not certain, just have faith.....True some of the cast are no longer with us (G'kar) but the rest really want to come back so i hope they can make it happen.....Coupled with the CGI possible by todays technology B5 could be even better...

  • @NikKast1981 To be honest, I wouldn't want it to make a comeback, what network would pick it up and allow it the creative freedom to be done right?

  • @xxxNewEyesxxx If the initial cast comes back i don't think it will be done wrong.......If they choose a new cast however chances are it will be crap.......Time will tell....

  • A lovely tribute to one of my all time favorite shows ever! B5 is and was, and ever shall be fantastic. Thank you for this amazing tribute. The music is heart pulling when one has seen the show and knows what happens to all of the characters in it. One of the most truly memorable and amazing sc-fi shows ever conceived of.

  • If you watched the series, you would know that these scenes were all directly related to Londo's actions.

  • Random question: can someone, by any chance, happen to be able to tell me what the name of this piece of music is? Thank you very much! <3

  • All that hardship, all that war, all that death. All caused by one man answering the innocuous question "What do you want?"

  • what is the name of this song? it's beautiful...as for Londo. He was standard issue politician til someone/something made his eyes open to the effects of his machinations*Big fancy word for The Shit He Was Doing*and he found his conscious outweighed his ambition.

  • @SunDown419 This sounds like the song playing in the background during Londo's story to the children about the human spirit during the Earth-Minbari War, in the B5 movie "In The Beginning". You can probably find it somewhere on Youtube.

  • @SunDown419

the only reason the character distanced himself from the shadows was that he was worried that somehow his own world could be sucked into hell and not to as you argue - help his "conscious "

  • THE cautionary tale of wanting to hold on to the staus quoe so badly that you will crush empires to acheive a restoration of your own ideal past.

  • ok some ppl r gonna be suprised at this but i'm 19 and i love the show it's the best peice of entertainment ever made. i love the music and londo is my 3rd fav character .i've seen the show since it first came out 17 years ago and i own every dvd and i've seen them all multiple times except for crusade that was disappointing but galen was funny.

  • @undertakerattic Want a surprise? I'm 17 and I love the show...and I fell in love with it when I was 11. =P

  • The interplay between Londo and Gkar was one of the best reasons to watch this excellent series-one of my top 5 favorites of the genre...

  • I like the Centauri. They know how to party.

  • @jamessavik just watch out for the tails.

  • Mollari kind of set the whole war with the shadows in motion when Morden asked him the big question with the shadows "what do you want?".. Mollari answered "i want my empire back". So the shadows began to help the Centari with military aid and started the war. So it was kind of fitting Mollari cleaned it up in the end

  • That was amazingly beautiful. That was the perfect musical selection. I also love how it still relates to him because it was the song that was played as he narrated for the Menbari war. Also, what ever it was done to make it darker just added to it as well. Especially Londo's reflection in the window, not only did he become darker but instead of just darkening, this time it was like the darkness was engulfing him, consuming him.

  • Touching music to a touching character, my fav show for the past 17 years. well done. where can i get the music?

  • i think you will find that this music is from 'in the beginning' it is used when londo is describing the war

  • @sammyatlantis yea i knew that much but idk what the song is called u happen to know?

  • Londo is hands down my favorite character in the series. He has flaws, emotional depth, and he is very tragic.

  • I think they should do some sort of remake for 'In the beginning' to include the battle of the line or even have a fresh take on babylon 5. With all new stroy, actors and with better acting and effects. With a big budget, just think what the effects could be like.

  • r u nuts? u dont get no better acting than the original babylon 5. and the effects those can use some work but for the most part those r awesome. and dont touch the story at all.

  • Londo Mollari was (is) the best character from any Sci-Fi series ever! He is the anti-hero, the tragic-hero. He wants things to be right, but has to work within the limits of the imperial court customs, who else can go from baffoon to anti christ to hero to saddam figure in such a fantastic arc! The best scene in B5 was with Londo... Please Please JS bring him back, bring him back bigger than he ever was...

  • At 3:07-3:09 you really see the foolishness and pathetic-ness of the Narn. God, they are such pitiful creatures whose understanding, or lack thereof, of the universe has condemned them to pain and suffering for all eternity. They are like toys to be played with. Toys that cannot even escape.

  • @Omithy

And how would anyone else have faired better?

  • The other First Ones, and even possibly the Minbari. As I said, any race that understands all of the things that have been talked about in the series. Life, death, the universe, love, hatred.

  • @Omithy

Yeah, so the Narns aren't equivalent to the First Ones. There's a revelation.

Putting the Narns down because they alone could not take on the Shadows is pretty ridiculous. The same applies to the Centauri and EVERYONE else.

It's highly doubtful the Minbari would have survived, either. Remember that the White Stars use a fair degree of Vorlon technology (First Ones)

  • It does apply to the Centauri and EVERYONE else, doesn't it? A revelation of your own, eh?

You think I only mentioned the Narns because they are the only pathetic ones to get shot down??? In my statement, it was assumed to include in EVERY other race that has technology on par of the Narns.

A lack of understanding, a lack of knowledge, is what plagues ALL non-First Ones. I certainly hope someone with a good grasp of reading comprehension would have understood that point by now.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • londo--the guy who did what he thought was the right thing for his people for every wrong reason.

  • An homage to the saying "Sometimes, the greatest curse is to get what you wish for." Londo, the tragic anti-hero.

  • Don't get me wrong, it's a nice montage, for a battle montage, but I fail to see how this is a tribute to Londo. he appears for less then 20 seconds in this video.

    I suggest a re-titling :-)

  • Yes, but Londo had a hand in all the destruction you see in the video.

  • Undoubtedly so, but in my opinion a video titled like this should include lots of Londo.

Don't take offence, it's just an opinion.

The vid is still good, just confused by the title.

  • In life, it is never about the man you see, but instead, it's all about the man behind the shadows(quite ironically) that you see not.

Londo is, in essence, everywhere where you see people dying and ships being destroyed.

  • Nice choice of music. If ever there was a hopeless battle it was the Narn versus the Shadows (as opposed to Earth versus the Minbari)...

  • The scene where Londo looks down at Narn when it is getting bombed is one of the most powerfull scenes of Babylon 5.

Good work on the montange. :)

  • Great and incredibly powerful scene!

    Love the show!

  • Londo or G,kar i cant decide who is my fav

  • That image of Londo looking out the window as Narn is attacked is one of the most powerful images of any TV show I've seen!

  • what song was used in this?

  • It's called "Requiem for the Line" and comes from the B5 movie "In the Beginning". It's a breath-taking piece, especially in its context in the movie.

  • awesome job :D

  • I think personally he is the most tragic character of the entire series, from his beginning he was considered a joke, even his own government thought he was a joke and assigned him cause noone wanted the position. The fall of his character in trying to do whats right for his people, his surrender to try to do the right thing, albeit he made wrong choices as do most in life trying to suceed, and in the final end result with knowing nothing but regrets and sorries for the wrong choices.

  • Indeed..which is why Lando is the real hero of the series. He makes the hero's journey as in the traditional tales.

  • I don't think Londo failed at everything he truly loved his home world. And wanted to do anything to save it and bring it back to it's rightful glory. But in the end his sacrificed cost him everything he dearly loved. He is greatly missed and still loved but those who knew him.

  • "All that is needed for evil to prevail is good people, doing nothing. And Londo was these good people very often."

He's not a tragic hero. He failed at everything and his only redeeming quality is, that he regrets everything. But never admiting to anyone.

  • that was beautiful *tear*

  • Great vid!

    What is this song?

  • I don't remember if I favorited this already or not, so I'm favoriting it now. ^_^

Wow... this is really good. The music really fits Londo. Good work is all I can really add to this.

  • Go go londo!

  • That song was definatly both good for "In the Begining" and this you tube video. Good work!

  • Best character in the whole show.

  • Londo Mollari was the most interesting and complicated character of the whole series. At first, he's a dreamer, remember lost glories, then he's a jerk seeking power...

And then in the end, through his guilt and concience, he did indeed become the tragic hero.

  • I think you're slightly mistaken. He was never a dreamer. He was a savvy nationalist. The whole point of the character is that he sacrificed everything for his home planet, and in the end his lofty hopes destroyed what he had had left.

Londo was never a jerk. He was just too slow to realize the cost of his ambitions until it had trapped him.

  • @ChsnVader he is an example of how easily even the purest politician (assuming such a person exists) can easily be manipulated.

  • music was indeed awesome. The show had such amazing battles, but it always bugged me how they cheapened out on the epic Battle of the Line in "in the beginning".

Come on dudes, billions of pilots going off to there deaths, a wholescale slaughter. It bugs me so much when you see what they DID do during the series.

  • How was it cheapened?

  • I always interpreted it as a (relatively) elegant solution to not having the money to show the fight- the forward scouts and fighter elements engaged the Minbari, then they made the realization about Sinclair and broke off before the real battle was joined.

Entirely possible that this idea is contradicted in some of the later talking about the battle, though.

  • Billions upon billions died, and only 1 captial ship made it out alive. It was the single greatest massacre humanity has ever endured. We were a second away from orbital bombardment and extinction. If they had've had the money....it would be every B5-fan's fav movie.

Sinclair's fighter attack was probably the very last desperate stab. Certianly, awesome, but somewhat less amazing if it is the only stab we see

  • Billions did not die In the Battle of the Line. 200,000 ships were destroyed though. But not many of these were capital ships. The casualties were 2 million. The Minbari surrendered Before Orbital Bombartment commenced.

  • I remember the numbers being 20,000 fought at the Line and about 200 survived. The information is around somewhere...maybe in the Lurker's Guide because I am certain they mentioned it in one of the episodes.

  • They mentioned the casualties in the pilot episode, and in the episode in season 3 where the guy thought he was king Arthur. 200 000 ships, and only 200 survived the battle.

  • It was 20.000 Ships/Fighters/Anything that was space worthy crewed by 200.000 people with only 200 coming out of it alive..

  • how..... how did u managed to rip the music off of that "In the Beginning scene"?!?! I've been looking EVERYWHERE for it and will be eternally grateful if u could send a hint my way =)

  • if your interested i can send you a torrent link with ALL the b5 music soundtracks, as they are impossible to find these days. It is about 2 gigs though. The song itself is a 35 meg file, dont think yahoo would alloe it to be sent, but maybe though.

  • I am interested :)

The b5 music is beautiful. I think whoever selected the music for the spin-off is a comedian.

  • Sent me that link if you please!

  • For a Londo Mollari Tribute there is a extremely little about londo, two shots with other Battle scene and in other Island exploding. You should have called it a tribute to Babylon 5 battles or something as 99% of this video is showing CGI battles, Narn Vs Centauri and shadows. So the name of the video is a bit misleading. I was expecting a video about Londo Mollari not a video about space battles.

    Loved the music tough.

  • pretty much exactly what I said in my reply.

    Spot on.

  • @Garnakesh Well said.

It's such a shame we'll never get to see another fantastic battle of wits between Molari and G'Kar. B5 was such an epic story (still missing a big chapter). I would so love for it to be remastered and have the effects/CGI brought up to date. It's amazing how you don't really notice the poor quality of it, but you're so wrapped up in the story and characters. Thank you once again Michael. RIP Andreas & Richard.

  • @Garnakesh the battle scenes were all very pertinent to the development of londo's character. they were part of who he was and contributed to what he became.
