In my country if you dont keep watching yours stuff there are two possibilities: 1- the governament will send it to a garbage place without ask and let you a bill to pay. 2- most probably, people will take what they need and make sure to destroy the rest just for fun! Nothing lasts for long time!!
Virginia has some great old country farm houses. Some of the vehicles were great, too. Some looked like the drivers just puller over and walked away. Didn't like the cars that were upside down. I might have thought of having different music. The credits looked professional. I'll give this film high marks and hope the maker continues on making films. Good job!

im a fan of every old car and a lot of new cars and im 12 plus at 0:50 who would abandond that ford falcon 500 it was in great condition it looks like plus its probley worth a pretty penny

Standard was the Mercury's 292ci (4.78-liter) Flathead V8, though with fuel at 20 cents a gallon, the big-blocks were favored, and this has the 352ci (5.3-liter) Police Interceptor special. It also had a retractible roof that hid in the trunk. That car as it sits is worth about 2000 dollars.

I remember back in the '70s I used to visit relatives in Reedville, Virginia. I recall somewhere along Rt. 3, maybe 25 miles southeast of Rt. 301, there used to be an abandoned 1965 Ford Thunderbird in someone's yard. It was a very nice medium blue color with (I think) a white vinyl top, as I recall. I drove by that car for maybe 20 years or more just watching it deteriorate. The last time I saw it was probably in the mid 1990s.
@1royalpalm Hey! That's crazy - I remember that car as well! It was sitting next to some kind of late 60's Toyota for many years. The car got removed from the property about 7 or 8 years ago. There are now a few late model junkers in this person's yard now. As recently as the early 90's there were a ton of junk/abandoned/yard cars on this road. I will be putting a vid up soon of other cars, trucks and landmarks mostly from Route 3 The Historyland Highway. Thanks for watching.
@zourtman I seem to remember the T-bird may have been parked (abandoned) next to an old mobile home (I may be wrong about that). I know there were weeds growing up around the car. I always liked the '64-'66 T-birds and that car just caught my eye, especially the blue paint color. I always wondered why no one ever restored that car. A friend of mine who lived in Montross knew about that T-bird, too. Yes, I found the entire drive from 301 all the way to Reedville to be interesting.
ya know these classic's that we call them that were left out in the woods and fields where probably not classics when they were abandoned. They probably broke down and cost to much for the owner at the time to fix. I am fascinated when it comes to exploring old houses and vehicles time forgot. If I ever find a old classic car like that Fairlane you can bet your butt I will be getting a chain to take it home.

A lot of these old homes are from the 1800s... many of them even from the Civil War era. The vast majority of these old homes seem to have all been a result of the great depression. A lot of the newer cars and such are the result of jobs lost due to the trains not travelling through there anymore. As you say, the people die, and when no new people move into the area, these places rot away. There's hundreds, even thousands of towns like this across the US. I've seen many in old parts of Virginia.

One time some friends and I were hunting and we found a ruined '49 Fleetline ( I think it was '49). I would've pulled it out and restored it, but the frame was rusted out and it was on it's side.

This may be a weird question out of the blue, but I've seen many of these neat slide-show videos of Junkyards and pictured cars. I've been wanting to make one too of my junkyard by putting together pictures with music and special text. I looked around but can't figure out how. Could you help me out?
