  • Love the old westerns!

  • he is the best- my hero when I was a kid, he still is my hero, but very sadly missed!

  • This isGood TV. Not like todays shows.Roy was a Great actor but most of all a great PERSON. What you see in his movies is the Real Roy Rogers in LIFE

  • for me this is like:

trying to make a mall-cops job look like mcgyver...

  • If this was made today, it would only be 35minutes long, and the networks would sell 25 minutes worth of commercials. That's the greatest thing about these old shows.

  • Happy 100 Birthday Mr Roy Rogers and his wonderful wife

  • Happy Birthday Roy Rogers. That is grooovy. Me and grandfather watched this all the time and i love it. King of the cowboys that's a real truth. The Awesome Truth lol. Take care my friend.

  • Go to thegreathorseman I wanna be a Cowboy for a tribute to Roy Rogers I did with a song I wrote many years ago.

  • trigger! the smartest horse in the movies!

  • Now, this man was a hero through and through. He talked the talk, but he also walked the walk.

  • they dont make them like him anymore how tragic

  • i use to watch his shows back in 1962.by then it was in rerun.it was latered followed by "SkyKing"and sponsored by nestle quick.anyway i was 6 and wonder who was dale?i mean he never would introduce her as his wife, lady or anything.just that she was always there"Lol"

  • Mother Creator

    ~~ Loves You ~~

  • This program used to come on tv every Saturday morning. I watched every one of them and I wish they still came on. I still go out and play cowboy by riding the trails and carrying a pistol on my side. It's my way of having fun in my old age. I sure wish I had Roy's looks and singing ability.

  • From the opening credits I can see why the dog was named Bullet. That is one fast pooch. I don't remember Pat Brady. I remember Gabby Hayes and always thought he was the only sidekick who drove Nellybelle.

  • Interesting use of the word "gay." I would think that "effeminate" would be a better word, since "gay" has nothing to do with being less than masculine. :O)

  • can we download these shows to a dvd!!!????

  • can these tv shows be downloaded to a dvd?I have someone who loves these shows and would like to download but i dont know if you can do this!!!I would really appreciate a response!Thank you

  • More! More! More!

  • I know i`ll get heat for this, but even when i was a little kid, i thought this was teh stupidest show ever. He dressed goofy. No cowboy would dress like that. He`s chasing criminals in cars,, on a horse! Dale,, who know what she was supposed to be, but wore a childs cowboy hat. Why, in the 1950s did everyone carry an open holstered sidearm? Andy why, if Roy was such a great guy, did he use every opportunitye to fire a lethal weapon? At least Andy in Mayberry used his brains, not a gun.

  • @xvoy2002 Would you prefer the weapons they use now? It was a better world back then! People act crazy now. By the way, he dressed for little kids. The only carried open holstered weapons in the movies. What do they carry in the movies now? Movies are much more violent now!

  • @cf1934 Yes, you make a good point i admit. But still, if he never carried a gun at all,, maybe the world would be just that much better. I never understood that fact tha american movies and tv shows all glorify the carrying of weapons.

  • @cf1934 Perhaps, we wouldn't have the problems today, if the trend hadn't begun years ago.

  • @Soulblackman If parents raised their children properly and taught them values we might not have these problems.

  • @cf1934 As I made two points, one moral, the other financial, which one are you referring to?

  • @xvoy2002 Mayberry was a comedy, so it wouldn't be appropriate for him to use his gun. Then again, what vicious criminals did he have to contend with? That's why one is serious, the other, comedy.

  • @xvoy2002 "Why, in the 1950s did everyone carry an open holstered sidearm?" Answer: In states like Ariz, Texas, & New Mex its still legal to carry an open holstered sidearm and some do and for the same reasons- Mexican banditos, outlaws (drug smugglers who will kill you) and rattle snakes. Today, if I lived in one of those border states you can bet I'd carry an weapon were I could get at it fast.

  • Roy and Dale were great! I'm one of many who used to love watching their show as a kid back in the 50's! They were lucky people, shooting their show in up in the mountains around Big Bear (the best country on earth)! But, what's with the look on Dale's face around 24:40? She looks hypnotized as Roy talks about his "Rightful Pleasures". Interesting. But, like I said, Roy and Dale were great!

  • Yeah, did you know the Roy Rodgers Museum closed and the family auctioned everything off, including Trigger. I think its a disgrace, the man is a legend, leaves a legacy for generations to see and its liquidated to oblivion. I can only think that their kids must have really hated them. He stood for everything clean, wholesome and honorable. An American legend!

  • @henrynevins Maybe it was strictly a financial decision; sell off or lose more.

  • The KING rides again!

  • wELL HECK, i WAS GOING TO GROW UP AND BE DALE EVANS SO i COULD MARRY ROY, TOO! LOL

    DIDN'T WORK OUT.....

  • Trigger and Bullet were supposed to be at the Nebraska State Fair, but they didn't show up! 300,000 people lost out! Tney don't know what they missed! (2010)

  • i remember back in 1962 i use to watch this every saturday.i recall asking my mom who was "dale"? he never said if they were married or not on the show,my mom just kind of laugh

  • Roy Rodgers was a Christian , and a Freemason who gave much of himself. He and Duke Wayne made a Movie together .. This show was filmed up in Big Bear . that's Roy's own speed boat he is using. This is a pc of time showing Big Bear lake back in the 1950's...

  • Looks later, its too urly now !!

  • I shall take over YouTube and there will be no commercials!!!!

  • It's a small world, my mom has a friend whose uncle, grew up with Roy Rogers and they used to play in Roy's hay barn as kids!

  • Did any of you lucky Baby Boomers out there have a Roy Rogers playset..?

With all the horses, with saddles & bridles...? I never got one, damn it..! It had the ranch house, fences, with some cowboys, and a few longhorn steers.. There was even Dale Evans, either standing, or, riding a horse.. And, there was Pat Brady, Nelliibelle & Bullet.. And, Roy Rogers, himself..! The Stuart brand had the best rearing horses ever made...! Damn..! Well, I finally got my Roy & TRigger..!

    WOW!! 65, and happy!!

  • God love you guys...Saturday morning was cowboy shows ~~

  • Cripes..!!! at 4:56 the guy walks into the restaurant and goes to take a seat,, DESPITE the fact that there is an unconscience guy laying on a table.!!!!!! I guess in the american 'west' of the 1950s this was common.. cripes.. could this be any more hoakier!

  • @xvoy2002 Fiction of all kinds is built on a willing suspension of disbelief. If you analyze any fiction, including Shakespeare, and especially, of course, sci fi, you won't watch or read anything.

  • @ianjcameron In fact, think of this as western steam punk. One era transported into another, but only partly, and then not very accurately.

  • I saw that Roy`s son closed his fathers museum and is auctioning off all his stuff. Don`t seem right to do that!

  • Roy was a little before my time but I am still a big fan, my older sister had Trigger and Buttermilk that she used to let me play with. When I was young they had Johny and Jane West that I used to play with. I have also always owned horses since a young age. I'm a huge horse history fanatic so I have done alot of research esspecially on th Original Trigger. There is still some mystery surrounding his origins.

  • I guess there just have to be a few who just have t knock somebody.. I'm glad I grew up when I did.. Roy, Trigger, Dale, Pat, & Bullet, were something clean and decent for us who grew up in the 50's. So, we had heroes who were clean, didn't smoke, drink, or, cuss.. And, most of all, they lived clean lives. It's hard to believe that there are some celebrities who live clean, help other folks, and are religious. I'm not religious, but I sure as hell don't knock it..

  • @zipper179 I wouldn't call Roy religous at all he was a true God loving Christian man with family values that is hard to find anymore. He and Pat took in all those children they were wonderful people.......and he loved his trusty horse although there was 4 Triggers in all The Original Trigger was his favorite and he is the one in his episode, I replied to you about the play set but for for got to reply directly:)

  • @rodeoratdogs There were so many things I loved and respected about that man..The Sons Of The Pioneers, case in point.. When Lloyd Perryman and Pat Brady, two original members, were called up for military service, they were paid, just like they were still performing. And, they were right back in, after they were discharged from the US Army.. One secret kept from us loyal fans, was that after the war, Pat Brady had a serious drinking problem, and they did look after him..

  • I love this episode, you can see Original Trigger up close when he wakes up Bullet, I also love it when Trigger and bullet rescue Roy :D

  • @rodeoratdogs Cool, man..! Did you have a playset, by the Marx toy company? Horse, with saddles & bridles..? I never had one..! You sound like a real fun person..!

  • I had a Jeep (CJ-3) just like Nellie Belle.

  • why didnt bullet know something was going on?

  • CLASSIC!! At 4:44 the guy walks ito the restaurant and goes to take a seat - even though there is an unconscience guy laying on a table directly in front of him.

Now that's great acting and directing!

  • Sorry,, never got it. Even when i was a kid. I wondered why is he riding a horse when everyone else is driving a car? Why is he always shooting his gun at someone and yet never actually shot anyone? Why in the 1950's are these guys all walking around with sidearms strapped to them? Aren't their gun laws? And what authority does Roy Rogers have to chase or shoot at anyone? Its not responsible gun ownership.

  • @xvoy2002 If you look real close youll see his badge.

  • @xvoy2002 Exactly what I was thinking while watching this. I'm thinking how is it they have this dual high powered ski boat and there all riding around on horses? How do they pull there boats? With there horse?

  • @xvoy2002 Sorry you don't get it, but for me I'd rather ride a horse than drive a car any day.

  • @xvoy2002 It's a tv show..! We were kids..! You probably don't like cartoons, because the animals talk.. I believe you would have slit the throat, of the man who said: "Once upon a time.."

  • @zipper179 no,, i loved cartoons,, love comedy,, love the three stooges.. but this, wow,,, i was five and remember seeing it and thinking it was too hoaky.. Why was he riding a horse and everyone else was driving a car.? why was he wearing a shirt that no cowboy would ever wear? Why did Dale wear that rediculous little tiny kids version of a cowboy hat.? No,, it was just a dumb show that had absolutely nothing to do with the 'west."

  • @xvoy2002 You have a right to like and dislike what you choose..Time and space doesn't allow for a proper rebuttal.. As much as I loved the show, and wanted a playset, with horses, cowboys, Roy, Dale, and Pat Brady's likeness, with the dog, Bullet, I asked those same questions, too. But, you learned to suspend reality; and, the 'Spaghetti Westerns, with Clint Eastwood, were a long way off.. We kids laughed about the endless shootouts, where guns never reload. It was all little kid fun..!

  • @zipper179 Not to mention the biggest thing.. ws everyone pshyco?? This was modern american, so to speak., and eveyone is walking around with a big pisol belt and armed. Were they all freakin' nuts? Was Roy some kind of lunatic that he thought he could go around shooting at people? Even the fisher guy and his buddy have guns. What kind of messag does this send other then the american west in the 1950's is full of psycopaths with weapons ready to kill at t moments notice.

  • @xvoy2002 We also didn't know that there was a such thing as public relations people, and, there were people known as stunt men/women. We were so busy having fun, because that's what children do. Later, we traded it for the 'adult' westerns, which were just as unrealistic. Many of those tv westerns had so little action, and were what later called 'sage brush soap operas'. They were the talkiest westerns! I observed and understood as a child. Read 1st Corrinthians, ok..?

  • I love this...I used to watch this show religiously...found a Roy Rogers lunchbox just like the one I had on ebay...would not trade it for a ride on Trigger !!

  • my dad was born in bradford PA, this was his favorite show. when he was a teen, the family moved to CA. years later he moved to Apple Valley CA and just happend to live about 4 miles from where they wanted to put the Roy Rogers cemitary. the contrution company he worked for got the contract, and he helped build his child hood heros cemetary, where roy and dale are now burried..

  • Roy Rogers ranch in Chatsworth is less than 5 min from where I grew up. In fact Val Kilmer lived on his ranch for years also......

  • I remember watching this when I was like 3 or 4 years old, and I'm 59 now. Been awhile.

  • Aww that Bullet and Trigger are swell pals!

  • It's been a long time since i saw Roy Rogers, thanks for posting!!

  • Bullet was an awesome dog.

  • It is fantastic to be able to see these classics. Thank you for making these available to us. Genuine, good Christian folks, who loved the Lord and people, and two of the best people in the world. Roy and Dale were the same off stage as they were on stage. We need good role models like them today. Thank you again for sharing these with us.

  • "in days of old when men were bold".classic stuff.

  • This was my first RR experience (I am in my 20's)....AWESOME!!

  • Cant believe jeeps in the old west.

  • @brcr29 or speedboats, but it's still the greatest awesomest show ever

  • Thanks for putting this on YouTube. Roy Rogers will always be King of the Cowboys. There are no heroes anymore. He lived clean and was never in trouble the way our so called "stars" do. The current crop of "stars" seem gay compared to Roy Rogers. Roy Rogers Rocks.

  • Agreed!

  • @friscolobo AMEN..! And, a 'YIPPEE KI YAAA..!' to you..!

  • @friscolobo You got that right!!!!!!!!! :D

  • @friscolobo They probably ARE "gay".

  • @friscolobo my heroes, roy gene , paladin , chuck conners , and many more carried me thru a career of rodeo and all around cowboying , still living the dream in Hondo New Mexico, nov30th 2010

  • @friscolobo Might want to reconsider your use of "gay" as a derogatory term.

  • @friscolobo That's because they are.

  • I saw Roy in a donut shop in Branson last week with Elvis. !!

  • NICE

  • The whole Roy Roger's museum is going on the auction block here in Branson. This will be the las tseason they are open. Roy Jr. says he will continue to have a show here however. Trigger, Bullet and all their family memorabilia will be sold. SAD.

  • That's because nobody shows up!

  • how do you know? do you live here?

  • The place has been struggling for years Roy is basically forgotten!

  • There's Bullet at 11:18

  • i enjoyed the show alot

  • I have a loan pony called Trigger XD

  • Love the show! Would love to see them all and the movies!

  • wasteoftimer your friend is a lyer. just so you wont go through life totally ignorant. Roy Rogers never drank.

  • I'll drink to that!!

  • Pete got his feelings hurt bad at 11:20 when Roy called him yellow. He made the man cry, wonder what pete would have done if Roy called him a sorry POS MF.

  • Comment removed

  • No shit, he dresses gayer than those queers in Brokeback Mountain!

    Clint Eastwood > Roy Rogers

  • Really amazing stuff. Just visited his home the "museum" not to long ago near Oolagah lake. Wonderful place!

  • I remember listening to the Roy Rogers show on radio way back in the old days before we had a TV. He has always been a hero.

  • Good show! :)

  • When I was between the ages of 5 and 7, Roy was the man! I wanted a palimino horse like trigger so bad!

  • Used to drive by their house in Apple Valley during the early 70's seen both Roy and Dale a few times. Brings back memories from my childhood

  • I use to live a couple of miles from Roy and Dale in Apple Valley. I saw Dale in the grocery store and she attended the same church as our family did. I never saw Roy with Dale. I always wondered about that. My best friend's dad, I was told, drank at the same bar as Roy and they were friends.

  • I heard Roy was a real drunk off stage too !!

  • @aboveyou1 wrong!!!

  • Nice brawl at 13:15 . Roy missed his target a little at 13:31 but it was a good hustle XP

  • Great cowboy clothes style; never was available to boys/ men to have the opportunity to purchase to emulate our Western cowboy heroes such as Roy and Gene, what a neat, classy and fancy looking " duds ".

  • I even had his lunchbox with thermos. (I wish I had that now).

  • Have to love this video......takes me back a "few" years. I can see that old BW round screen t.v. Thank you

  • roy rogers has a restaurant nowadays

    they sell good food =)

  • I love these old westerns, times were better when all the young fellows wanted to be like Roy and others.

  • I used to sit crossed-legged on the floor in front of a B&W console TV and watch Roy Rogers on Saturday morning 45 years ago. He was a hero to me.

I think his show is one of the reasons I love the beautiful West so much too.

  • @StereoSpace he, s why Im here in the greater Hondo valley in New Mexico, cowboying , . . .

  • I liked, but is better in spanish. Great language.

  • roy was my hero. lol
