  • Wow! Feel like I just re-discovered an old friend. I guess I did. I haven't heard this music since I was was a teen back in the late '70's.

  • The most under rated artist ever. I've been to a lot of concerts but the one I have seen the most was Joe. Saw him with the Eagles several times, and while I like the Eagles, they needed him more than he needed them.

  • it's great to sooth my brain.

  • & you know there ain't as many as there was a while ago....

  • Lets see if the picture of that girl pops up on this video..=D

  • such a great guy with a huge talent and a BIG sense of humour and self distance which is rare in rock music :/

  • The perfect song to get stoned by.

  • memories of playing my older brothers records while they werent home :)

  • i love this album

  • Chef d'oeuvre. Avec une intro accueillante et insouciante, Il s'agit de l'attirance d'un homme pour une femme.

  • Chef d'oeuvre

  • Plusieurs messages...

  • Reminds me of my old system. An Allied 395 and AR 7s. Wish I was listening on that again. On a brand new Lp of course.

  • Super underrated musician, great album, love the1st Barnstorm record too. The only Eagles song I ever liked is "Pretty maids all in a row", Walsh wrote it didn't he?

  • @discomadame he did

  • I believe that Barnstorm was Joe Walsh's first solo release. But this is a great track nevertheless....thanks.

  • Fantastisch super sfeervol nummer van een zeer groot muzikant...Ik heb er prachtige herinneringen aan..

  • This LP and this song----true classics!! Thank you for the post.

  • The memories this brings back are simply priceless ... thank you for drenching my mind in smiles ... One cant ever get enough of "the smoker you drink the player you get" ... Ithe next hour replaying sound and memories makes my day ... week... month ... Joe was ahead of his time - like Todd Rundgren ...

  • I'd forgotten about this song... I was usually wasted by the time the needle hit this one... great song then and now... thanks for sharing

  • Joe can give you the impression that he's the laziest guy on the planet, but anybody who's ever tried to make music sound this laid back knows how hard a job it is. JW has always been a master at that.

  • I have the QUADROPHONIC mix of this album on LP...;D

  • Rocky Mountain Way was a teaser for this LP the same way Money was for Dark Side Of The Moon. I love the classy warm feeling of this LP, the sophisticated arrangements, and tasteful studio tech. A real class act, a one of a kind band.

  • i bought this album when it first cam out. I remember being dissappointed at first because the radio stations were only playing Rocky mountain way. I thought that the entire album must be filled w/hard driving rock. The more i listened to it the more i learned how to listen to it. I had to put my ears in a different place. I then realized that this album is amazing. I just wish it had more of joes guitar.

  • @alsaxe1 I felt the same way..I'm 53 years old now and got this album when it was first released..and it still is just growing and growing on me..Joe Walsh is like a stained glass window in a church..you see one day and it looks one way,,then the light changes and you see i again for the first time..

  • Wow. This brings back memories. Listening to this I was transported back 30 years.

    Thanks for uploading this Chris.

  • @rts4761 Sure is ...Joe put out a string of 'em in the early 70's, just one great LP after another.

  • Just the title of the album says it all. LOVE this song.

  • Blues'y. never heard this before glad i have now though.

  • Seen them at Cessna Stadium in Wichita, the early 1970's with R.E.O., and Leon Russell, it was my first rock concert, I was on the run and madly in love with a pretty NDN girl who was brown and I was green...

  • @rbertagopetah13 Tip of my mind, "she was brown and I was pretty green." Oh yeah, "When I was Young" Thinking Eric Burden.

  • Got this when it came out and have to say it, and Barnstorm, are amazing. Thanks for sharing great stuff

  • writes the best mellow tunes ever

  • Haha,,,good story Cleofizoid!

  • A musician's musician. So many little details that they didn't have to work so hard to put in, but they did just the same - makes for a classic.

  • i paint my version of this album cover on my day off,i think i was 16,

and i listen all day to joe walsh,,,it was a very nice day,,,,,,,

  • Second record album I ever bought in the '70's(the first was Carol King's Tapestry).

Especially loved this song. Stared at this cover endlessly while I wore the record out.

  • When I was 17 in the 70's a friend came over to trade records. He has this record and another Joe Walsh, Joe Walsh who? I was sooo hooked and I remember having to trade hard for them as I had no money. I'm 53 now and I still have these albums. Joe has carried me thru good and bad times. Jo's music helped me thru the death of my best friend not long after I traded. Thanks Joe.....

  • @pdjmwj1 Nice post. I am also 53 and still have this album. Have not thought about it in years & years...not sure what led me here today. Youtube can really jolt your memory.

  • @pdjmwj1 ..my hubby just passed away a few hours........ago. thank you for saying what I would love to say

  • Jow walsh, the most underrated musician of all time and one of the best.Love everything he recorded. Thanks Joe.

  • I saw Joe Walsh & Barnstorm at the Capitol Theater in Passaic NJ in 1974. I feel high just listening to it. Awesome!

  • Saw this albums tour & Focus was the back-up band. Poor Focus...you have to realize that it was in Houston, TX way back when. They came out yodeling! As killer as they were...just a bit too Europa for the Bayou City crowd...know what I mean? After major heckling, said Fuk You Houston, we'll never play here again. The crowd went wild and did a Joe Walsh chant for about 30 minutes. I think Joe stepped it up a notch and rushed to the stage just to make sure the place wasn't completely destroyed.

  • solo joe is awesome.....gotta love it!!!1

  • that descending helicopter sound at the end puts me into an alpha-brainwave state, like a dose of mescaline starting to kick in (:^D

  • wish someone would load bookends on here as well...thanks

  • Just call me Joe!

  • Oh, yes...

I love this song, it has encouraged me from the start. What a wonderful spirit Joe has shared with us...

Maybe we can reawaken, renew, regain our hope...we can let go of the substances that cloud the sun, like alcohol, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, and just get back to gentle nature?

I believe so, and am spreading what I can of optimism, hope, love, healing, happyness...

    Thank you for posting this!

  • @sillybear969 sounds like someone mighta taken off & gone down that road a time or two in that ole imaginary mode of transportation...it doesn't matter too much anymore, since it was 40 years ago anyway; but hey whatever works

  • @kurt1110 - waaaaay more than a great song, one of his masterpieces. But if you were entranced by the video, you may want to put down the pipe. ;-)

  • @angelltube I agree this song is a masterpiece, one of my personal favorites. and LOL @ if entranced by the vid. :p

  • WOW! I forgot how many cool tunes this album had on it. I practically wore this record out when I was a youngster. I'm heading to the used music store.....AFTER THE EAGLES CONCERT TONIGHT! I'm 48 years old and I'm finally seeing Joe Don, Glen and the boys for the first time! YEAH!!!!

  • @majorinfominer

were you at the vancouver concert? i was at the monday night one, best concert i've ever been to!

  • j-5r8YNSgG8

  • Joe played piano on this in concert.

  • Back in 1974 I joined the Columbia Record Club. Remember 12 records for a penny? I put this down as one of my 12. STILL NO REGRETS!!!!!!

  • First joe walsh album i purchased. $2 for the lp... bought the rest later that week... no regrets!!

  • Hey ChrisMcrae thanks for uploading this little gem.

  • great music to hear while you are stoned!!!

  • i agree, but then again almost all music is great when stoned haha

  • Travelling down the road, cause the woman drives me crazy (classic words, deep bugger)

  • I'm with you thespotteddog on the 8track days. Joe Walsh ruled then & now.

  • i like anything joe does , , , i agree with 1952FMS , im grateful to be here at the same time that joe shared his strings with us long live Mr Walsh ! ! ! his music gives me an eargasm ! ! ! ! ! LOL . . .

  • What are you talking about?, Joe Walsh was/is progressive rock personafied, Him and his guitar were the best

  • Now THIS could be his best song ever..might run close with a couple of others from the same album..clever young Joe and his band of talent!

  • I agree completely. Killer tune. Been listening to this LP/CD for 36 yrs, never gets old....

  • Haven't heard this gem in about 30 years since my 8-Track player ate the album! True story.

  • what a magical time,,,what a magical musician blessed to be on the planet same time as joe

  • days gone by...

  • I've been saying "this is the best song, that's the best song by J. Walsh" all night, but Days gone by is really his masterpiece. Not on youtube tho??

  • @mark22isaking ya why doesn't somebody put that song out there! DAYS GONE BY is the sayz all of every feeling one would love to say as a last testament before saying goodbye.

  • A lovely Supertramp sense about this song and performance....... or, should I say, Supertramp do a good Joe Walsh? Both are so ace. Ta for the post, ChrisMcRae.

  • this is the first album i ever owned

  • I was drunk only once; For 30 years...* God Bless You...Joe...Godspeed...*

  • lol thats not somethin to be proud of

  • sure it is......say you are one of them dudes that dies in acar crash or something else and you die young......well its over...now say you spend 20 years in arow stoned drunk and burnt up. your a head of the game

    are you not ?

so if thats thetruth.........tell me am i lyin ?

  • Now that's some logic...

  • I remember this song. shit Ive been drunk and stoned for almost 3 yrs now

  • This is also Barnstorm! Same band members in these two albums.

  • This one & "Here We Go" (Barnstorm) both have that kickass chill/crank vibe that blows me away. What a prime post, thanks!

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • actually, it's his second solo LP!

  • Actually, the album before this wasn't solely Walsh, it was done with his band Barnstorm.

  • One of Joe´s best songs, really good!

  • JMHO but this JW best song. Thanks for post.I could listen to this for hours.

  • great song, an absolutely wonderful vid i was so entranced please keep making more
