  • how on earth did a susquehanna coach get down there?? haha

  • very nice, she has an awesome whistle. I just came back from KRM. Our special caboose train was supposed to be pulled by her but she's down for major repairs and they subbed a diesel, but I did get a cab ride which was very cool. I've ridden a lot of trains but never in the cab, so that was an unexpected thrill.

  • A manual and automatic bell, that's different.

  • reminds me of a prr t1 and oc 6325

  • lol love the horse crossing the tracks at the beginning!!! So they don't use the old whistle anymore? Well that sucks lol most engines are often associated with the sound of their whistles!!! I guess they can't some how duplicate it so it sounds the same???

  • @WorldOfNothin they hav a duplicat whistle of this one, its used all the time

  • fantastic video....great angles, good editing and outstanding audio!

  • 12myoung, thank you for the information!

  • does anybody happen to know why the font of the #152 on the tender of 152 isnt the same as it was when L&N had it and the way it was in 1980's?

  • dude i looked this up and its so hard to find on google im not a fan of trains but id did find somebodys work thingy and its for the l&n railroad the most i can figure out is that its for insurence 1950's to the 1970's

  • What railroads were the streamlined car & the Pullman green heavyweight from?

  • @Petemonster62

The green coach is MKT 884 (KATY)

  • @Petemonster62 the streamliner was from the Western Maryland railroad and the car in the front is the Susquhanna cab car

  • Can't they just add another layer of fresh brass in the whistle to make it OK again?

  • Awesome video! My Dad and I was part of the group that restored the 152 back in the early 80s while the museum was back in Louisville. One of my jobs was to polish that whistle so this was especially important to me! I'll never forget those days with my Dad and the 152!

  • She is very beautiful and sounds beautiful!!! for a 105 year old!

  • Dang that whistle is beautiful! And who needs the mainline? The 152 can really gun it at track speed.

  • Oooh this whistle has the same notes as a PRR major chord whistle....beautiful!!

  • Was 152 operating on Ex. L&N rails?

    Great whistle! Great Video!

    Len.

  • Yes, I believe KRM's line is of L&N vintage.

  • Yes it is, its the L&N Lebanon Branch that ran from Lebanon Junction, KY to Mt. Vernon, KY. It was around 80 miles long, and also had 2 smaller lines branching from it, one, the Greensburg branch, which met the lebanon branch, in Lebanon. the other went to richmond, ky but im not shure what the name of that one was. The line was built around the late 1850's early 1860's. About 30 miles still exist on west portion 2-3 which still are CSXT's and the other 27 to the KRM. In the east 5 miles of CSXT

  • @SR6900 The old L&N Lebanon Branch

  • yea KRM's line is the remains of the L&N lebanon branch

  • Wouldn't mind hearing that whistle more often.

  • That makes it even better!

  • Love this vid! I think 152 burns oil. Am I right? Beautiful locomtive. I hope I get to see it one day.

  • No, she's a coal burner like most eastern steamers.

  • no it burns coal

  • 152 is a classic, I wish she did mainline trips.

  • That train can move!

  • Very nice!!
