I use Hornady FTX 160gr in my Marlin 336, but since the gun isn't even fully broken in yet, I am uncertain of how the monoflex tip will perform in the cold. Living in Alberta we experience some pretty cold weather and I know rubberized surfaces usually harden in the cold. Has the ammo been tested for that as well? I'm thinking it will perform properly, I just don't want my tube blowing up on my brand new gun by finding out myself the hard way if it doesn't. Anyone test it out below -20C yet?
I reloaded and used these this year for my .35 Remington for moose hunting. Because of the bullet construction, the same load I used for the 200gr Hornady Round Nose made the new Monoflex projectiles hit about 2 inches higher at 100 yards. They are not a cheap projectile but well worth the advantage of being able to load spitzers into tube mags and getting that added down range performance and added distance. Fantastic bullets! Let's hope .375 Winchester Monoflex components are next! PLEASE lol
when does the red "cap" fall off ..... in mid flight as soon as the fireingpin strikes the primer thank you i have been looking in to lever action guns
Can we buy Levererevolution in .450 Marlin (also in Europe/Germany) soon? Because we need at least 2000 joule energy at a distance of 100 meter for hunting wilde boar and red deer.
Buy the way is J.H. shooting with a second animal in the backstop zone?
@Dampfhammer100 I should hope so by now. Where are you at? The .450 Marlin, the 308/338 Express Marlins should all be there. All of those meet the 2000 joule standards. The .338 even does that at over 200 meters! The .338ME is more powerful than the .348 & 358 Winchester! & it will reach right out there too, just like a .30-06!
@xbones101 thanks xbones101. The German importer of hornady www_helmuthofmann_de does not provide such information on his page. also i could not find any official announcement regarding metric power ratings by hornady. but such official announcement by hornady would be essential for market access in Germany / Europe. with out a metric power rating statement from hornady no potential buyers, no consumers.
@Dampfhammer100 Hum... Did you try to contact Hornady? It would seem that only they could help you. I have heard that they are very friendly & accommodating, & personally attentive to customer's needs. I'm sure that they would understand your plight & help you in any way they can. Like they should be able to send you the necessary documentation to use their products.
@wonderbeatle ya im in so cal. i looked at the cut away pic for the monoflex on their web site, looks like its solid metal. im just hoping their is no lead core hiding in their. but i would like a "lead free" stamp on it like other bullet manufacturers do just to give me peace of mind.
@Chorizosabroso Yep, a new 140 grain .30-30 bullet should be available by now. Damn! I hate to have to use lead-free bullets! That would suck! There are only a few metals that are as or more dense than lead. Gold, depleted uranium, & what else? Silver? Platinum? I don't know but whatever they are they're expensive.
@xbones101 checked the dfg web site for CA. looks like this ammo made it on the lead free list. looks like im gonna be shooting something other than barnes now!!

@rynstn No, the tip doesn't exit until it hits the target. That's how the bullet gets it's high ballistic coefficient.
