I just loved this version of "Lucy" when she was Carmichael and Vance was Viv. I don't know how many seasons there were of this but all the episodes were top notch. They NEVER run this particular series of Lucy on TV anywhere, but you see I LOVE LUCY on TV somewhere all the time. I don't get that. She had other series even after this one that you don't see anywhere either. I have NEVER seen them run the version from the 70's when her own 2 real children played her children - "Here's Lucy".
A classic scene! Used to love watching this on Nick at Nite as a kid. Lucy & Viv were 1 of the best comedic teams ever. I had this episode on tape but it got destroyed. :( I guess I'll have to spring for the DVDs because I miss this show. Still, maybe I'm in the minority on this, but I do think I Love Lucy was better than The Lucy Show. Lucy was always brilliant, but the writing and situations were funnier on her first show (with the exception of this Xmas episode and a couple others). JMO!
The Official Second Season of Lucille Ball's second series The Lucy Show, is coming to DVD on July 13, 2010! If you haven't seen the Lucy show it is so funny! And the second season co-stars Vivian Vance(Ethel)! Also it's in Color!
I have this episode. The carolers get them very sentimental with their singing. At the end, they wish each other Merry Christmas with a big hug and they shed a tear. The way they react to each other at that moment, you know they are not acting. That's what made this episode special for me
I truly think that The Lucy Show was some of the best of Lucy...I love Lucy was great , and in The Lucy Show she truly came out as truly the worlds best funny lady.
I heard that this particular scene was used as the foundation for most laugh tracks used on other series in the 1960s and early 1970s. The laughs here are very recognizable.
Ah very reminiscent of them as Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz tearing up each other's dresses in epsiode #69 of I Love Lucy, "Lucy and Ethel Buy the Same Dress"
The first season episodes are all black and white (when TLS originally broadcasted seasons 2 and 3 were also black and white but now they're in color)--so this episode is obviously in the first season. It is "Together For Christmas." There is a good chance that CBS is going to release the first season this spring!
Someone has posted the entire episode type in
