The SR GB scene was insanely competitive and satisfying. This was easily one of the most orginal and fun shooters I've ever played on the 360, nothing can quite match its uniqueness. It's sad to see this game didn't get the sequel treatment it deserved, and hopefully we will all restrospectively celebrate how great this gem really was, when we think of Xbox 360 FPS titles

maybe the world need a shadowrun RPG and maybe people are butthurt that its have some issues with the old story line and how essence and tech works etc but this is undeniable the best FPS i have played. there is a lot of games i want to be made and a lot that i want to be different but instead of trash talking about it places reserved for the game actually made i just dont play it if i dont like it and maybe make some effort to see it made someplace where my opinion is relevant.

Good review, but I couldn't see the variety of map styles you mentioned. Personally I was even a bit surprised to see such simple looking maps in a 2007 game, what I have seen so far have looked mostly like they were out of the original (1999) Unreal Tournament or something.
No advanced geometry or architecture, just square rooms, straight corridors and ramps.
This 2007 Shadowrun game is a disgrace to, other FPS, Sci Fi/Cyberpunk genre, Shadowrun series and the classic RPGs, The RPG's on SNES and Genesis are great both of those two are different but they are great if both came back they should have a subtitle to both of them to avoid confusion, i almost forgot Sega CD (hopefully someday they will make a english version of the Sega CD version)
either way all 3 RPG games are way better than the 2007 games, Hopefully there will be a new RPG in future!
the only bad thing about shadowrun is that the company went bankrupt therefore no map packs or sequals and the game got discontinued meaning they cant make it any more so if u want to get this game, u better hurry up because there is not thay many left

The main reason I've found for people not liking the game is that is has a very large learning curve. Nowadays, people just want a game that they can pick up, play, and kick ass at. This game is not that simple. There are many different tactics and elements to the game that can only be learned through experience (or friends, I suppose <_<). furthermore this shadowrun is set in the time when magic just re-awakened, so its not as cyberpunk as the official (explaining lack of cyberimplants) it might not be the real shadowrun, but its the best damn shooter i've played. My only 2 problems with the game is that you have a noticeable disadvantage on PC, and the fact that this game had the potential to be more than just another Counter-Strike clone with "innovative" gameplay.
Thats what keeps the game more balanced and tactical. WIthout it, the game would turn into a run-and-gun shooter, instead of people actually having to stop moving/jumping to shoot accurately. It promotes thinking over just plain being better at aiming, which was the goal of the game. Plus its a disadvantage to everybody, not just Pc gamers. Its not a disadvantage, its balance.
I'm not arguing that it creates balance, but the one advantage of pc fps gaming over console, is that you are able to aim with more speed, and accuracy than with a controller, which means that it affects the pc players more than the 360, which, while balancing the game for cross-platform play, makes it irritating for pc players.
Well the only disadvantage the pc players realy have is the skill ritticule. Xbox gamers can cast extremely fast ressurections or tree's from the circle. whilst a pc gamer needs like 2 - 3 seconds (time they dont have)
but then again if my pc shadowrun playing friend has a sniper rifle, you dont want to walk into his crosshair, he will shoot a line in your hair at ANY given time.
those are the mayor (dis)advantages, rest is all thinking and playerskill =)
good review bro. Ive been playing on and off for about a year and i can honastly say that this is the most unique online FPS ive played. CoD is fun, halo is fun.....but this game REQUIRES strategy and teamwork .(not to mention running around as a elf droping healing trees for friends is just plain stoner friendly)lol
Definitely one of the best FPS shooters for the Xbox360, currently my favorite... It adds a level of gameplay that Halo 3 and Gears couldn't satisfy.... and at $15-20 you can make a team of 4 with your friends for the price of one copy Halo/Gears.
IGN sucks corporate dick. They take money from large developers to ignore obvious technical flaws and game flaws to give high marks to hype machine games. See Gears of War 2, Halo 3, etc.

This game is pretty fun although i feel that it becomes one-sided onc the first team wins since they are rewarded with more money which means more weapons for the already winning team. However i do enjoy the uniqueness, style, and fun that shadowrun offers. I dont think its for those realistic military shooter type people with games such as cod4, graw, socom, but shadowrun is fun although u might find urself pissed off alot. (i play gears cod4 and all that) I also love the rifle in this game =D

na thers only 6 training chapters (10G each), if u have live its a game u have to get!! its really really good!! takes awhile to learn how u use everything and ever games dif!!! really worth buying :)

This game is top quality bought this game on the day of release and still playing it today im a big fan of the ankle biters love sucking the essence out of enemies so they cant teleport away.

Shadowrun is set up like Counter-Strike, whereas they are both round-based.
The closest thing to it would probably be a Warcraft server on CS:S, however Warcraft is more detailed and has a exponentially higher learning curve.

I like how theres no career mode and less game modes - the simpler the better
And the reason why you think the rifle is innacurate is because you're using it wrong - you don't just walk around with it - thats obviously going to make it innacurate, try crouching and aiming.

This game is for the people that enjoy a shooter that requires brains. if you dont have those dont play ;)
furthermore this shadowrun is set in the time when magic just re-awakened, so its not as cyberpunk as the official (explaining lack of cyberimplants) it might not be the real shadowrun, but its the best damn shooter i've played. You dont walk in and start owning like halo 3 or call of duty skillz is the keyword in this game <333 get some friends and play as a team it feels wonderfull =D

My only 2 problems with the game is that you have a noticeable disadvantage on PC, and the fact that this game had the potential to be more than just another Counter-Strike clone with "innovative" gameplay.

Thats what keeps the game more balanced and tactical. WIthout it, the game would turn into a run-and-gun shooter, instead of people actually having to stop moving/jumping to shoot accurately. It promotes thinking over just plain being better at aiming, which was the goal of the game. Plus its a disadvantage to everybody, not just Pc gamers. Its not a disadvantage, its balance.

I'm not arguing that it creates balance, but the one advantage of pc fps gaming over console, is that you are able to aim with more speed, and accuracy than with a controller, which means that it affects the pc players more than the 360, which, while balancing the game for cross-platform play, makes it irritating for pc players.

Well the only disadvantage the pc players realy have is the skill ritticule. Xbox gamers can cast extremely fast ressurections or tree's from the circle. whilst a pc gamer needs like 2 - 3 seconds (time they dont have)
but then again if my pc shadowrun playing friend has a sniper rifle, you dont want to walk into his crosshair, he will shoot a line in your hair at ANY given time.
those are the mayor (dis)advantages, rest is all thinking and playerskill =)

good review bro. Ive been playing on and off for about a year and i can honastly say that this is the most unique online FPS ive played. CoD is fun, halo is fun.....but this game REQUIRES strategy and teamwork .(not to mention running around as a elf droping healing trees for friends is just plain stoner friendly)lol

Definitely one of the best FPS shooters for the Xbox360, currently my favorite... It adds a level of gameplay that Halo 3 and Gears couldn't satisfy.... and at $15-20 you can make a team of 4 with your friends for the price of one copy Halo/Gears.

This game is pretty fun although i feel that it becomes one-sided onc the first team wins since they are rewarded with more money which means more weapons for the already winning team. However i do enjoy the uniqueness, style, and fun that shadowrun offers. I dont think its for those realistic military shooter type people with games such as cod4, graw, socom, but shadowrun is fun although u might find urself pissed off alot. (i play gears cod4 and all that) I also love the rifle in this game =D

hi i have shadowrun ad have a fun time playing it but i have found that as u start rto play and get into the game you will only chose a few abilitys all the time, there is a largevariaty but not many people(i have asked) actualy seem to change the abiltys and useually follow the same routine
