hey! Not bad work...but try to start first with the form of the face -then it's easier to draw details like eyes, ears, mouth,etc- ...and don't worry about shadowing!! it takes a long time learn to do it right ^^...believe me, i'm on an arts school and so many people has not passed only for that trouble... =)

you should try to construct the face before. Don't start with the details, it's hard to get it right that way. Major mistakes in scale, proportion etc are avoided by constructing. Go from the form of the face, do the vertical axis and the line of the eyes and then construct the eyes, mouth, ears etc. Shadows are always, always last. Or you can try and start with the guidlines and do some planes of shadow and light and then do the details. Don't press the pencil too hard & always work in layers.

DUDE wayyyyyy to much shadow usage....and its too dark.....other than that pretty good....and by the way to the other veiwers....graphite dosent smudge.........charcole dose......peace

my friends and I are working on Diru comic for our schools comic book club... and she can draw all of the characters except for kyo... she says hes the hardest one to draw... any reccomendations on how to draw him?? It doesnt have to be full detail like you have it here, but something you might find in a manga...

any pointers you have can help!

yeah shadowing for me is pretty difficult. But now i think i got it.

best thing to help if you have trouble with shadowing is graphite pencils those are what I use and you can get what ever shading type you want I'd recommend a 4b or 2b for face shading ^_^. But really good job.

you need to keep a paper underneath your hand so you don't smudge.
