This is way better than Synthesia IMO. Many people underestimate the importance of learning to read sheet music.. falling notes may be fun for a while, but in the end reading sheet music is a much more valuable skill. Thanks for making this stuff open source!
This is what i have been looking for, a very long time....it takes learning to site read to another level...man this is great.. excellent work... youre a thinker pal. Keep this alive...
Just had a little play myself. One thing I found lacking is there is no indication of note length, so the program halts if you are still pressing notes that should've been lifted.
The are some high quality demo midi files from the "Piano Booster Home" download page. Google for "Piano Booster Home" then click on the "Download" link. Under the heading "Midi Files" there is a link to page with has demo midi files contained in three zip files.
yeah, ive gotten the program. it is nice. however im wondering if there is a set of midis that are best for learning how to play.... or if there will be.
thanks man!!!!but it is more helpful for me if there is a virtual piano on it so i can see what keys are using.....do you have a program for that??but thanks for it...i will download it
Suggest adding the "acrade game" mode for "play along" that the staff is "eaten up" when correct key is pressed. It is better to also have some visual effect like the staff exploding or color changing during "eaten up" as some encouraging sense to the player. In this mode, the scrolling is not necessarily paused to allow playing fluency. Of cource, the existing version is too valuable already.
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I have listed my plans for future release over on the "Piano Booster forum" see the thread "Blog for January 2009". Feel free to post to this forum if you wish.
I am planing to add more gaming features like a high score in future releases.
This is much more useful than that awful Guitar Hero,I will download this....

Yes, it should work with any midi file. (If you find a midi file that does not play then please post it to the Piano Booster forum)
