  • kind of....awkward filming.....and i'm not buying into the narrator's drama/voice inflection...not my favorite of shortfilms. but keep it up!

  • I think I can break the 4 minuite barrier. I got a 5:38 when i was 12. Relpy and like if you believe me.

  • @justinkitchens538 that means nothing how old are you now? I had a 5:00 flat as a 12 year old but that means nothing when your at the age to break it. (18 through 25)

  • @JohnDavis4542 are you retarded, running any distance with a time that's that hard to do their is a wall, like a 1:50 800m or :50. 400m or even shorter a :10 100m if there wasn't a wall everyone would have done it

  • Also, the mile is so short you really have to fuck up to hit the wall

  • Talk about horrible form. All of them

  • these guys really suck or these girls are really good i dont get it

  • is the girl in the green a fucking washing machine? put your damn arms down

  • 15 stars!!!

  • have a look at the effortless style of the black guy

  • @donquijoteviva well I said two things, but it's not that confusing

  • @donquijoteviva I think you can only assassinate my character, this is youtube. Of course I don't like this poem either the narrator sounds swarthy

  • u would never get dizzy if you never ran a damn 4 min mile lol

  • Lol @ their form. They probably could have picked actual good runners for this.

  • i want this video on my ipod before i run

    my mile

  • thumbs up if you searched Roger Bannister on Google

  • Inspirational. For those who want to run I suggest taking it easy at first. Those sub five minute miles in the mountains will come in a few years. The agony and the pain is a myth, just give it heart .

  • I think they did it in 4 minutes 23.

    still slow.

  • avante garde sports filmmake... to be totally realistic they should show the runners spitting and blowing snot rockets and checking there watches

  • im downloading this to listen while running :D

  • my uncle was the first Scotsman to run the four minute mile.

  • Yes!

Makes me want to get up and run long distance though, I love long distance with 0.25-0.50 mile sprints.

Maybe I'll start making those sprints a little bit longer each time until they're 1.0 mile.... Haha

    Roger Bannister, FTW!!!

  • I run the 400 and the wall always gets me at the 250 mark, that is always the worst part of the race, but when I hit the last 100 I'm back and everything I have is put into propelling my body forward, pumping my arms, picking up my feet as fast as I can. I love the pain, the competition, the movement, I love the 400.

  • the girl in yellow....

  • some day...some day

  • They could have at least picked some more athletic actors with better form...

  • @krussvt Not everyone is perfect, and it honestly doesn't matter.

  • Mental toughness and Mental Training started in sports... Sir Roger Bannister was asked how he made the 4-minute-mile. He answered: I didn't win because of my physical power but because of my mental power. I simply didn't believe in what they said about the impossibility of running the mile under 4 minutes. thx for that great video!

  • That was awsome! So inspirational !

  • im in 7th grade going to 8th i run 5:25

but im a sprinter, but i love the mile.

    like bannister said, its perfect.

  • this is rather retarded because they have 2 women in it, and no women in the world has ever run a 4 minute mile, dumb political correctness

  • @johnnysurefire not only that, but the narration keeps quoting "the man" " a man"...might as well had some transvestites running this race

  • iv heard of the wall during running, apprantly you also hit the "wall" around mile 20 in a marathon, its where your body runs out of glycogen and the mind tells the runner to stop.

  • @FunnyStunts123

You're thinking of Glenn Cunningham, our best miler in the 1930s. He was the one who was badly burned in the schoolhouse fire.

  • I think this video is great; it gets my heart racing!

  • the narrator kinda sounds like the guy who did the Charlie Bones books on tape

  • i thought he sounded like the guy in phonebooth

  • lol kiefer sutherland?

  • Haha you can tell the narrator has never raced a mile...

  • Awesome

  • is the audio part available by itself??

  • im 4:53. thats with two months of training so hopefully ill be under 4:30 soon

  • Not too shabby. get some good speed work in.

  • thanks but its kind of the other way around. i need to put in a lot of miles in because im a sprinter turned distance runner. im so far behind because i didnt do cross country though. soccer killed my endurance.

  • @blaze222666 Really wow you must be some sort of beast since the world record 4:43 so I must assume your talking about something else :)

  • @jonyb0b13 um... the world record is 3:43 by hicham. i can run a 4:43, its not that hard

  • @jonyb0b13 hah its not 443 im a freshamn that runs 4:55 i wish that was the world record hah

  • @cooldogcool51 Yeah sorry ment to put 3 43 not 4 43

  • @cooldogcool51 @jonyb0b13 How about we all SHUT UP about the "MY MILE TIME IS BETTER THEN YOURS" Because NO ONE CARES!

  • @B00mNutsh0t fag im not saying my mile time is better then anyones I was just saying my time like everyone else? I was just saying someone said the Mile record was 4:43 and I said 3:43 and the person that I was saying it to said sorry and even agreed with me and didnt talk shit. But on the other hand we have people in the world like you immature little fags. Your also saying in qoutes saying my mile time is better then yours and I never even said nor did anyone say that. Im just saying your gay

  • This was really inspiring. It makes me wanna go run now XD

  • I'm sure.

  • idiot!

  • Good one?

  • Shame you don't make yourself feel good by filleing that arrogant mind with a sense of achievement with actual achievements. Even though I want to say how much of a worthless douchebag you are I'm not gonna say it. I'll just end it here.

  • who were you directing that towards?

  • marsinmax and his post from 3 months ago. Hate people like them.

I've got nothing against you. You're a sports performer, like me, and I adore your efforts to become better. Heck, I do the same in basketball. So I wouldn't post a message like that towards you.

Keep going by the way. ;)

  • alright thanks and good luck with basketball

  • I prefer Team handball but thanks

  • really? ive never heard of anyone making a mile before. you must really be good.

  • This is just how the mile feels...Great Film....def. inspired me....Sir Roger Bannister ima make u Proud!

  • i love futureshorts films

you guys are greatr keep ot up!

  • love it, recognise the blonde girl from katemodern

  • An interesting video, havent really seen anything like this before. I create short films for 'Univision Film Production', im fresh in the film business...but the actors seen in your clips are they paid?

  • "any god damn since"

Well know, since that's not a real term, its not supposed to make any "since".

  • Forget it.

  • ouch....4min mile.

  • cool vid..anyone know the song?

  • i liked it a lot. the deep voice and the message. however, i think extra details in actual human breathing and sweat dripping from their face would have given the message 10 times more power since this is a visual message, not just purely audio.

    good job!

  • really enjoyed it..but please for the next time let the athlets do their ..hm how do you say? " run out?" ...otherwise it'll look like they didn't run the distance in one piece ;) but besides that tiny detail...a simply amazing clip - well done

I like the speaker :P how he gets more and more powerful in his voice it's making your heart run faster too XD

  • great! like the shot and the message.

  • It's nice but a tad on the ridiculous side.

  • powerful

  • how much is a mile? mts.?

  • 1600

  • 1609.344 actually.sorry to be a pedant but it's true.

  • really well done

  • hey, I have ran on the varsity cross country team for 4 years, its not my fault that my cross country coach got to drink beer with Steve Prefontaine.

  • Shockingly Sophomoric.

  • the only one of them who knows how to run is the black guy. everyone else may be fast but their form sucks :) still cool though

  • you're not gonna stop dead in your tracks after running a four minute mile...you'll kill yourself

  • narrorator reminded me of Tom Waits

  • felt like a long comercial ... but nicee

  • Great narration and some nice shots of London. Makes you appreciate just how quick 4 minutes passes!

  • It made me think of when ever I run a mile or so. I wasn't feeling this short though.

  • great script, voice, sound- enjoyed that got me going, if anyone knows who the narrator is - please give me his email addy- thx from South Africa

  • anyone know who's narrating? gripping voice.

  • Kenneth Cranham

  • I feel tired after watching that.

  • run forest run!

  • Only if I had a dollar every time somebody said that while I was running................

  • weird

  • Unrealistic u know as well as i do! THE BLACK GUY would own everyone easy

  • Not if he were a smoker ;)

  • He's probably right! ;]

    Thanks for sharing

  • that first guy looks like a cross between Hugh Laurie and James Bond.

  • That was so thoroughly enjoyable to watch!

  • this has just inspired me to get up and run! haha nice work, this was an awesome video!

  • I have to say, If this guy was whispering this in my ear when i was running, I'd probably punch him in the face. Especially 3:30.

  • 3:30 to 3:36 are very nice moments for sth else ;-)

  • great! ^^

  • eh i didn't really like it... I'm a distance runner and i just thought it seemed really fake and cheesy. sorry I'm not saying that it was awful just didn't appeal to me.

  • This kind of makes me want to quite swimming and water polo and just run.

  • NO.

  • lol, nice vid, what happened to the cool down after the run lol, the actors would be dead

  • that's what i was thinking dude. Don't stop walk around. Ahhhh

  • no sexism here, but no woman has ever broken a four minute mile. just pointing that out. the woman's record is 4'12.56".

i run the mile as my 2nd best event. I'm not that fast, but I'm okay, and I have to say, I know what they're talking about. i really liked this.

  • It doesn't neccasarily say that they ran a four minute mile.

But yeah, in general the girls would be in the back.

  • awesome

  • the voice over makes this

  • really liked it

    good stuff

  • sexy

  • gud stuff. it was all about the words and narration. reminded me of my first half marathon!

  • I liked it. But it got a little lost down in the middle.

  • It was you who was lost, you hit the wall. lol

Sir Roger Bannister was a machine. Anyone see the film about his time in University?
