Her voice has so much vibrato I can imagine it'd be hard to control at times. She has a beautiful raw voice and sings some of the most incredible songs ever. This is out of Florence's comfort zone, because Florence tends to sing songs that have more depth and rawness to them. But this wasn't bad at all! It's not easy to compare to amazing powerhouse singers like Beyoncé and Florence. They both sing different styles, but they are both equally incredible!

I think this says more about the fact that we underestimate Beyonce's skill as an artist than the fact that Florence struggles with this..I think most singers would struggle with this, to be honest; it's a hard song to sing.

I used to write her off to be slightly tone deaf, or at least very bad at composing songs in which she sings more than two different notes in, but I realize now that it's not that she's not hitting the notes, it's just the quality of her voice that makes her sound tone deaf.

I think this says more about the fact that we underestimate Beyonce's skill as an artist than the fact that Florence struggles with this..I think most singers would struggle with this, to be honest; it's a hard song to sing.

She always sounds bad if she is not on a studio recording. It was disappointing for me the first time I heard her off album. LIVE she NEVER has vocal control. No one else sees this? She has passion, but NO real skill.

@missemily775 okay, well i'm a classically trained singer. live, she sings 3/5 notes flat. every performance. that's the fact i was referring to. i think you need to listen a little closer if you truly have a trained ear like you claim. i wanted to love her live performances, but i just can't. nobody is perfect, but she is a very poor live vocalist. sorry, but it's true. i'd never say she isn't talented, but she just can't sing live. you can disagree all you want to. haha

It takes more than wearing kooky dresses , tottering around in heels and wrapping flowers around your mic stand to call yourself an artist. You actually have to be able to sing live, which Florence clearly cannot. She does not write 90 percent of her songs. They are all co wrote. Florence is pure fraud.

Her voice is definitely an acquired taste...
I used to write her off to be slightly tone deaf, or at least very bad at composing songs in which she sings more than two different notes in, but I realize now that it's not that she's not hitting the notes, it's just the quality of her voice that makes her sound tone deaf.
As I said... it's and acquired taste. (While I haven't acquired it, I do respect her as an artist; her music just doesn't suit my tastes.)

Donna Summer is a much better singer than Florence. Her vocal quality is superior. The music industry died in 1980. Donna Summer has a very strong voice and sings softly too.
Donna Summer and people who have talent, don't sound grating on your ears after five minutes.
That industry is dead folks. I also like more creative people in terms of instrumenation and melody. The quality of music has gone way down. That industry is being run by business people who know nothing about music.

I think her voice is o.k and sometimes I like it but all in all, she is over-rated by far as a singer and writer...Donna Summer, Selda, Me, and others have warmth in their voices and soul in their music....Flo is kind of cold in her singing and music, though not all bad.
