I just bought a 87 f250 bigfoot cruiser and a previous owner put a Big demon carb on it, the engine runs smooth but slow to rev and if you jump into it, it will bog before coming alive. Need some help, I have diesels since 91. I would like to go through it and build a stronger motor, nothing nasty but respectable for pump gas. Open to suggestions.

does anybody else think the spoiler looks like crap. i remember when we were disassembling it and we had the spoiler and visor off, it looked so much more bad ass without them when we first got it, it was basically the same truck but it needed new metal and paint badly. it took 4 months of 4, 20 plus students per class to get to what you see

Classic II's look great on these older model Fords regardless, either polished or black.

@IHDiesel436 myabe not 1500 no, but between 400-500tq stock at around 2500-3000rpm? thats still not bad for a v8. a v8 obviously isnt goin to make its torque as fast as an I6, but it still can be made into a low end pulling engine, and thats what the 460 is good for on the gas side. also the 460 started back when there weren't anyone who gave a damn about gas mileage if they bought one, and still is an engine to have today that will last.

Plus, 460's aren't so bad considering you're paying $3.25 a gallon for diesel. this is coming from a huge ford fan, but honestly unless you do bore a 460 out to .30 or like they did, .60, they are pooch motors stock. a 429 is a better stock motor than a 460. the intake and exhaust valves are so much smaller than what they should be on such a big CID motor. but like i said earlier, that truck at idle, even with the huge ass cam, still sounds shitty

You're right in that the Ranger packages (Ranger, Ranger XLT, Ranger Lariat) was found from the F-100 all the way to the F-350. But if you really knew your stuff, you'd know that you do not have a '78 F-350 4x4. If your '78 has a Dana 60 front axle, that doesn't mean it is an F-350. That means it was special ordered or had the snow fighter package. '79 was the first year Ford ever made an F-350 4x4.
