this was such a dumb match. novak was setting roger up for all kinds of ridiculous shots. instead of trying to win, novak was just out there goofing around trying to entertain the crowd. maybe he's just satisfied with his 1 slam.

i'd be more impressed with this shot if novak dind't completely and utterly set roger up for it. instead of a passing shot, novak hits a sitter lob.

I sort of agree. The mistake that many people have playing against Federer is that they think that they can simply do enough and expect for it to be over.

In order to play against Federer, you have to use the BEST of your ability and expect the unexpected.

Novak could have done more with that, instead of lobbing it. And he could have also had been more prepared for Federer to do some insane weird shot like that..even if it does mean ruining the most incredible shot ever.

Hitting a lob wasn't a bad idea. 9/10 times Federer would miss that shot (going between the legs).

The biggest problems were 1) Djokovic should have it the lob to opposite corner on Fed's bh side instead of to the middle of the court and 2) he only haphazardly was in place for a volley when Fed hit the shots, i.e., half-ass stance, not on the middle line, etc.
