  • Just thinking about this from Kevin Costner's (Bodyguard) eulogy to Whitney Houston (homes Newark & Mendham, NJ) this weekend... Faith, forgiveness, going home, sharing family & friends. But we do not need a song or book or even death to be "born again"... "I ain't been livin' the way I oughta..." Time to "Git er done"

  • i want this song played when i die

  • This song is very uplifting. I love listening to it.

  • I think Charlie Sheen needs to listen to this

  • The first time I heard this song was my brother singing it karaoke. I have been praying for him for years to return to the ways of the Lord and to hear him sing that I was crying so hard. God never gives up! What a mighty God we serve!!!!!! Thank you Trace for a very powerful song!

  • @helenasalisbury

Amen! I love stories like these.

  • I think this video represents the prodigal son returning home, and he wants to solidify his re commitment to his faith by being baptized. If you watch the video and pay attention to what it is saying, it's not misleading at all.

  • "Baptize me in that muddy water

Wash me clean in amazing grace

    I ain't been living like I 'aughta

Baptize me in that muddy water"

Seems to me like it's focusing on the baptism. Seems to me like Trace is trying to pander to Christians, without being too "Christian-y".

  • Just so everybody knows, this video is a little misleading. Baptism is not what washes you clean of your sins. Jesus Christ washes you clean of your sins because of what He did on the cross (Revelation 1:5).

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

  • it is a song. just cause you don't like it don't mea you have to bash it........seems to me that's what you are doing!

and btw "avenged sevenfold" is a band and that phrase is stated in the bible......look them up!

don't rate songs on the lyrics.

  • I wasn't bashing it. I was pointing out the theological issues the song has. If Trace does a song with theological implications, he opens himself up for constructive criticism.

  • @bossmanham

    Amen! That's the truth.

  • this is the best song ever

  • not best song ever but is one of my favorits by this artist

  • Only song in the world that has ever made a tear come out from my eye.
