  • @nastynas373 no truer words could be uttered my dude.

  • @nastynas373 dawb86 Ras Kass actually has a rare pre-soul on ice demo tape called sampler on ice. you can listen to the whole tape on grooveshark, just type in "soul on ice (demo). btw, I'm not spamming just promoting real hip-hop. peace

  • The instrumental was produced by DJ Joe Quick specifically for this freestyle. It's a shame because I've tried everything in my power to get it. I even tried extracting the vocals but it sounded terrible. Tried recreating it... failed. I guess I'll never have it. Either way dope track and I'm glad to have this. Hip Hop for life.

  • that was incredible

  • @zidane583 thats what im saying haha

  • Ras fuckin' killed it.

  • can someone please tell me what exactly the wake up show was?? from what i've seen its a bunch of crazy good mc's

  • @andyeminem23 The Wake Up Show was a Hip hop radio show back in the day based in the West Coast mainly L.A. and the Bay Area where once a week usually Friday or Saturday where Sway and Tech played the real Hip hop(compared to the wack stuff you here in today's radio across America) and they gave MC's the time to kick freestyle's unrehearsed. You feel me? This was back in the day from the early '90s until like 2001. I miss those days of real Hip hop being heard on the radio.

  • @madrecka thanks bro, that sounds incredible, man fuck today's Hot 97 and all the other shitty ass stations too

  • which is the beat heard at the first 30 secs?

  • @gerofranklin Mobb Deep - Back at You

    rkV6SCOIrnM

  • which is the beat heard at the first 40 secs?

  • Some of THE most incredible MCs ever born, in their prime, together on ONE TRACK. Straight classic of Hip Hop history.

  • ohhh man, this reminds me of being a kid and hiphop being so pure and lovely.

i try to remember it the way it was recorded, aside from a few people i know, this form of music is destroyed.

    very unfortunate.

  • Too ill

  • @nwcalibp I know the kicks and bass comes from a Mob Deep joint. i think its called dust to dust or some shit along those lines

  • so glad ive found a good hip hop song where about 20 wanna-be's haven't posted their own written lyrics all over it

  • Wow. So much good stuff. Saafir adds a real surrealistic quality, though. He's got his own thing going on. All of them incredible though.

  • shit is soo butter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nas and Ras Kass SLAUGHTERED this track. I wish L-Boogie rhymed on this...

  • Datz ya opinion but naw. Anythang in 2010 is not touchin anythang in 94". EVERYTHANG wuz golden back then

  • nas punished this ho ,..........a new orleans nigga co signed this. real

  • I stay 100 miles from SF. Had to extend the antenna on the radio, and continuously adjust it just to listen to the Wake Up Show. Ended up recording this on tape along with hella other freestyles and exclusives. Couldn't get the Hiero vs Hobo recorded clearly tho. Too much static that night... Ras Kass, Nas, and Pharoahe Monch are on my top 10 lyricist list.

  • Nas, Organized Konfusion (especially Pharoahe Monch who is in my personal top 15 FOR SURE...po is nice)....Nas kills it...I'm surprised I had never heard this...The Anthem in 99 is FIRE too...Em, Tech 9, KOOL G Rap, Pharoahe Monch, Chino XL, KRS-One, RZA, Xzibit...I think I like the 99 one better, but this one is pretty dope also...On that one I think Em and KGR have the 2 dopest verses w/ Chino/Pharoahe/Tech 9 also killing it

  • someone has to know how the fck is rappin after Shyhem. Been looking around the web for a day now, and nothing so far and I can't place the damn voice either.

  • i think canibus is the greates rapper just the way he puts the shit together is really like no other

  • ash to ashes,

    dust to dust..

  • lauryn is like the coolest chick in the world

  • There needs to be more joints like this...simply classic, get all the legends together on tracks.

Kool G Rap, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, Nas, Chuck D...etc

  • This is practically unheard,Never knew all these guys would ever get together, and it also makes me think what ever hapned to shyheim, its like he just disapeered.

  • Ras Kass, Nas & Pharoahe Monch...holy shit.

  • @IBlackThought9 That's EXACTLY how we felt in 94...

  • You Got Crack Now Rock On...
