No, they wont track you if you click once. If you're really afraid of it you can just go to a starbucks or something.

The reason it makes sense is because anyone who wants to advertise has to pay, and Scientology would be billed every time someone clicks on the advertisement.

Scientology WANTS you to see those adds. You of course don't have to read/watch them. So they wont get all mad if you click.

Oh, and clicking on it too much will cause the system to think you're a bot and ignore you.

I disagree with the statement that the ads are becoming less. They are showing up everywhere now. Type in "McCain" in the search window and a scientology ad will come up. I am seeing them more and more, not less and less. look up prank phone calls, flip through a few pages and eventually a scientology ad will show up. I think we must not stand for any dangerous cult using youtube as a recruiting ground. They can post whatever videos they want, but paid advertisements are disgusting.

Wouldn't clicking this scientology AD be dangerous? The ad takes you to a place outside of youtube's domain. Would this allow the logging of your IP? This is not for those who use blind proxies, but rather those who don't. Is this an ID/WHOIS risk??

Its just really strange to me of the number of video's on youtube saying "CLICK THIS AD!!"

In the ad bizz, doesn't the advertiser pay the outlet-provider for the AD space allocation rights to advertise just like with every other media-outlet??

It would be possible but i dont think so. When you know someone who have knowledge about that theme talk to him/her. Perhaps you should use a linux os like auditor2006 or backtrack2. Then nothing can happen to you. Its for free and you can download a live-cd which you dont have to install. Your other OS will be activated so no datas will be lost. there you have not to feel any fear of ip or mac adress. When you have questions you can send me a pm.

Don't click the ads. It just encourages the $cis and makes Google/YouTube think the Co$ is actually a marketable customer. It won't cost the Co$ enough money to make it worth it.

Besides, YouTube has decided that free speech is less important than ad revenue. They pulled xenutv1 for no reason, and haven't put it back yet.

YouTube doesn't deserve that money either.

I agree dont let them think people are intrested or that theres a market out there so youtube can do more business with them in the future. Im really disgusted with google right now they alaways seemed like the good guys but then again everyone brakes for money and it could just be a small time deal with few people in google/youtube and not really the company as a whole, I hope.

I'm unsure of the ads appearing here on YouTube, but the ones showing up in Google searches are definitely "pay-per-click" (Adwords).

Look at how Scientology is tagging YouTube keywords such as "Anonymous", "South Park" and "Jamie Lynn Spears".

My concern is that Scientology has tricked us into clicking on their advertisements to help them "googlewashing" search engines.

For the moment I'm very hesitant about clicking the ads and advise you all to wait on any action regarding them.
