do u have the tab??? i notice several parts you played differently than the tab i've found and it seems a lot more plausible to play!! like the sweep right before the super pinky stretch exercise (12th on B string n 10 & 14,15,16 & 17 on e string) (damn its so hard to describe it w/ only words... :P) it seemed to me that u just do a single sweep (one direction). and the tab is an alternating sweep and the ending u slide from 14 to 19 and from 14 to 10... i don't think that's how it's played...

@andrew625 No i did a diminished/pentatonic and it comes back to an A major sweep then. It goes up and back twice. Yeah I do a slide to reach the note instead of stretching for it... I think the tab you're talking about with 14 to 10 may be wrong, I slowed this song down with audacity to make sure all the notes were right.. But who knows! Might double check that now that you mention it! All down to personal touch. Its hard to make it your own and do it justice at the same time....

@FyrestormTV I agree that the tempo is slower, maybe by about 5 - 10 BPM. When I was making my backing track, I misjudged the tempo. I recorded it, then when I compared my finished video to the original track, I realised it was a little slower, which annoyed me a little... But I'm not a cheater, so I didn't speed it up with the computer, just left it as it is. However I completely disagree that this tempo is a walk in the park.

@marmartif Thanks! Made the backing track, drums were recorded with acoustica beatcraft, bass and guitars were recorded with Micro BR. The Boss Micro br has built in guitar amp simulators which make it sound like you're playing through an amp. All digital guitar tone on this video!

@welovethrash thanks... High gain setting - not too high that it becomes muddy sounding... treble just past halfway for definition... mid about past halfway for a boost... Bass about halfway! Strings are .10 gauge elixir strings but i would normally use .09 gauge on solos like this because of the bends. I recorded it with a Boss micro BR recorder

Are you able to do more intense vibratos with 9's than 10's? If you trained enough, would gauge matter? Do 9's not tear up your finger? I have 10's and I swear when I do vibrato everywhere I lose my outer layer of skin even after more than half a decade of playing guitar. Maybe it's just normal...

@xD0NKEYx Yeah, 9's will give you the Marty style vibrato if you're used to playing 10's... Gauge depends on preference and maybe how conditioned your wrists and fingers are to the bending, like Guthrie Govan uses 10 gauge and does massive bends...

I've been learning this solo for awhile now. :O I'm at the part after the final tremolo picking like the last 5 seconds of the solo having some trouble with tabs so I've been doing it by ear lol. :O oh and you do that slide after the diminished arpeggios to the major... I couldn't figure out a good fingering for it so I learned marty's live way of playing it.... lol I wonder why he never played that part like the record...
