Dang. I'm almost inclined to say "Forget it, guys, you'll never match this" to all the baritones of the world, including myself:). And Merrill is actually a little past his best here. I think he rushes the tempo at points to compensate for losing some of his breath control to age, for example; and he holds the acuti no longer than absolutely necessary. But the sheer richness, resonance and beauty of Merrill's voice remain supreme:) -
