  • After several listens, I can honestly say, this is undoubtedly the finest recording of Goldberg I have ever heard.

As great as Gould is (gigantic, in fact) he simply approaches Goldberg from an awkward angle when compared to this. Whereas Gould plumbs the vastness of Bach's mind and intellect (An ocean with considerable depth) Perahia embraces the infinite of Bach's human spirit.

Put simply, Gould is high-octane-brain, and Perahia is infinite soul.

  • @BlahLalaification This isn't Glenn Gould. The pianists name is in the descriptionbox :)

  • A near-perfect reading of this sublime piece.

  • An excellent performance! Yesterday I bought the CD properly.

  • in the 90's Murray had a hand injury and while he was recovering he studied Bach for like 7 years and so that's why he knows most all the Bach keyboard music

    I learned recently!

  • me encanta murray perahia, creo k su versión de la balada op 23 de chopin es la mejor interpretación, y creo k después de gould es el mejor interprete de bach
