The arabs called it Philistin and the jews called it Peleshet. It might be true that Palestine had always been a mandate or region of another country, and therefore they have never had an independent flag, yet they did have a flag as a mandate just like MANY other countries which are independent today.

@VentMultimedia well there's an east and west jerusalem. But you don't care. So how about the rest of the west bank. Why do israelis have troops in hebron, nabulus, ramallah, jerico, and the rest of the west bank.
And why are they systematically not allowing the palestinians to build homes, and are demolishing homes cause they are "not authorized". And we saw in wikileaks palestinian leaders said u can have east jerusalem most of settlements and large area of hebron and Israel refused, WHY?

@kuktahamham I'll tell you "WHY?". For one, "palestinian leaders" don't lead palestine, Hamaas does, so bureaucratical pandering hardly holds any sort of clout. If any Isreali actually went there, they'd probably be beheaded. Secondly, what's wrong with having troops in an area when it's to prevent a minority from being slaughtered or forcibly evicted.
