  • I have the 81-7's on my DBZ 7 string... they are really good for punch... I have the 808 emg's in my Schecter 8 string, but those pups are garbage... I do agree that the 81's are better than the 707's or 808's but passives achieve a much brighter tone for cutting through distortion. Making the notes more audiable

  • I'd love to hear a demo for the 8 string Nailbomb humbucker... sadly I can't find one.

  • Is it so much for you fine English gentleman to with to do a similar demo but with the Painkiller? The other demos on youtube are atrocious.

  • misha ftw

  • This is my next pickup. I'm getting a Schecter omen extreme 7 soon and I've been in contact with BKP about pickups and they highly recommended this one for my style of music.

    EMG what?

  • Can you coil tap them too? I'm thinking of installing them on my Fender Blacktop Strat but don't wanna lose the coil tap features this guitar comes with.

  • @wickedexp all their humbuckers can be split, you just have order a 4-conductor version (all the same pickup, just 2 more wires i.e coiltap-able)

  • Can i get a cover for the 8string version?

  • Is this good in basswood guitars?

  • Comment removed

  • they sound like stray dog with rabies

  • I'm so gonna buy one of them..

  • Great tone! What was the amp used?

  • @jtschew I think it was an AxeFX

  • That was djawesome

  • @TurdFurgusonABF You are a fucking gaggot and I hope you die a peasant's death.

  • That is the most aggressive passive pickup I have ever heard.

  • 0:37 makes me laugh. Just the picture of this pickup with this song playing, lol.

  • 1. Remove stock pickups.

    2. Insert BKP's.

    3.???????

    4. DJENT!

  • why do all the noobs only think you can get tone like this with ACTIVE pickups?

  • @d3tach3d i am one of those noobs

  • @d3tach3d Well actually I though of that too. It's mainly because BK pickups aren't that mainstream as EMG's and Seymor Duncan. Also it's a bit impossible to get this clarity with EMG and not have a 20K effect prosessor like Axe FX and a ENGL head.

  • @d3tach3d

You can't(?) I have Emgs in my guitar right now and I hardly can get any djent out of them.

  • @m4ssee depends on how good your pots/electronics are, bridge height, and most importantly....your tone.

  • @d3tach3d

Yeah, but I think dynamics are one of the most important things to get a djent sound and active pickups doesn't have any dynamics.

  • @m4ssee I strongly agree on that one. :D

  • @d3tach3d Because, yeah, passive pups like EMGs are fuckin gash. Shove them r8 up your arse fella.

  • @Bodycage EMG's are (Active) derp.

  • @d3tach3d Shite whichever way you slice them, asswhole

  • @Bodycage The correct spelling would be "Asshole".

  • @d3tach3d Not quite sure... Actives (especially ESP) are pretty lackluster... i see videos of dudes trying to get a "DJENT" tone out of emg's.... not what they are pade for... Passives for the win.

  • @CavScoutZombie *made

  • @CavScoutZombie do you tried the EMG 707 or the 81-7? for me the 81 sound better than the 707 (the 707 is too clean with too much trebbles and no enought mids, but the 81-7 sounds more fat) 707 is made for leads, arpegios but not FAT chords (but it sounds nice with chords, we can hear all the notes etc ...)

The 81-7 and Blackouts sounds better in my opinion.

  • @CavScoutZombie yeah, I've always used passives. I can understand the use of passives for certain tones but there just not for me. I used my Bill Lawrence XL500 for years back when he sold them for 40$ :D. From there I moved Bare Knuckle.

  • @CavScoutZombie I Agree. I never liked Active's and I've played many guitars with them. EMG's, ESP's, SD Blackouts, etc.)

  • @d3tach3d Actives suck!

  • @hellsSG Agreed, thats what I said.

  • so.. im playing through a mesa mark v. got a damn good djent tone with my 6 string prs. the narrow fields rock for djent imo. but i have a ibanez rga7 n want to put bkps in it. im just not sure if i want coldsweat or aftermath. i want that racecar tone u know? really punchy with huge ass chords. most not definition without lacking harmonics n stuff. help?

  • @xPLEASANCEx you will have to change all of the wiring and pots to go from active to passive

  • passive >>>>>>>>> active

  • whats the most colorful bareknuckle pickup, no offense but tight low end isn't my dream sound, and the song i just heard doesn't have much midrange, i like down tuning but at certain point it's like, why not just play a bass

  • @shinybald36 they probably shouldve used a different song but misha is a huge promoter for them, and the first full length periphery did they used dimarzio. but with the new stuff they record (when they release it) should give you a good example of it.

  • @shinybald36 Try the nailbombs they would be more your style

  • @shinybald36 Check the site out. They have frequency diagrams on each model.

  • What song is this? I swear I think I've heard it before, or is it just solely a demo?

  • @CalebSmith576 Bulb/Periphery- "New Groove."

  • Passive pickups eff tee double you.

  • this makes me want bareknuckle pickups

  • @lefthandedmetal27 dont forget if you get these you gonna want a Bernie reco 7 string and a mesa boogie head with an orange cab with dual rectifiers

  • This pickup makes me shit in my pants, I'm going to be getting this soon!

  • @meah941 That's what I have heard as well. I check it out

  • Thumbs up for Periphery:D

  • Oh I want a set so bad. Cant wait.

  • Everybody, im in a serious predicament:( I play Hardcore/Groove metal. and I dont know what would be better, The Aftermath, or Painkiller? Im using a 6505, ibanez rg7321, and a orange cab. I use 13-.70 gauge strings. HELP!

  • @chickenluva1 I'd go aftermath.

  • @ElectricTurkey1 Ordered it about 5 hours ago!

  • @chickenluva1 the aftermath in my opinion will get you more bang for your buck

  • @NOTHINGTOSEEtheband I ordered them a few days ago!

  • @chickenluva1 well that's the bitchin kitchin

  • @NOTHINGTOSEEtheband Ill have a video up once i get them and such

  • Just got my Ibanez RGA72 back from the shop after having a set of aftermaths installed, they sound BEASTLY! Well worth the money :D

  • im planning to get and ESP LTD EC-1000 in silverburst soon, and switch the EMGs to Bare knuckle pickups. Can you get this tight tone with the bare knuckle pickups?

  • i am seriously blown away by the tone of these pickups. this is simply the most brutal tone i have ever heard. i want these for my new 7 string but i am poor and these pickups are expensive especially after euro to usd exchange rates. if anyone hears where to get a cheap 7 string set LET ME KNOW!!!

  • @broj15 actually for a calibrated 7 string set with shipping at least to where i live it was only $447, but it also depends on where u live. i too am planning to buy some

  • @broj15 why euro to usd? wouldnt it be pounds to usd since they are from GB?

  • i think im bleeding inside my chest

  • Fuck EMG!

  • @icmbld actually emg PASSIVES are ok

  • @icmbld Yeeeeeees dude FFFFFFFUUCK EMG

  • Where can i order this online?

  • @TurdFurgusonABF bareknucklepickups(dot)com, I'm not sure if any retail stores have them in stock. You might find some used ones though if you look for 'em.

  • Question, I've noticed your products go out in pairs. Is there a way to get them seperately? Like one Cold Sweat and one Aftermath for my 8 string? If not which of the other would you prefer for someone like me who is going for that tight progressive metal/shred sound?

  • startin to really get into djent...

  • @MrYungsan Same...Fuck, I brushed it off and thought not much about it. I've been listening to some Bulb clips and its quite gnarly

  • @ElectricTurkey1 listen to meshuggahs older stuff man check out perpetual black second or catch33 album, 'blub' is just another scene kid. just imo of course

  • @SilentDarkness2332 I wouldn't use "scene". Scene is shitty Deathcore bands like BMTH. But ill check out those albums anyway ;)

  • @ElectricTurkey1 yeah i think your right there, i probly should of said the chaosphere album instead its so sick gets my djizz flowin' :D

  • Ohhhh.........God speech. And talks about huge disasters... Got have!

  • I am wanting to get rid of my EMGs for this set, will it work since my guitar is active, and the pickups are passive?

  • @zakkthemusicdude Yes, this is a passive pickup.

  • @Psyshimmer I know it is passive. I just wanted to see if it would work in my schecter since my shecter is active.

  • @zakkthemusicdude Whoops, sorry. I responded to the wrong person. If I remember correctly, it should if the setup is done properly.

  • @Psyshimmer Awesome!

  • Manson MBK3

  • do you hear that? it goes DJJDJDDJJDJJJDJDJJJEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENT BITCHES!!!

  • Djent as Fuc 2 the k

  • @Zwartvorst I got the Omen Extreme 7 too. Were you recommended them by someone working for BKP as I'm confused as to whether these or the Painkiller 7s will be more ideal.

  • I'm looking for a different set of pickups for my 6 string playing quite intricate precise stuff in drop D so i need some more control than i have in my 81x/85x emg set (which are a phenomenal set on the whole) because i need a tad more definition and clarity so the notes run together a bit less... so in short would this aftermath or a painkiller set be better to do this for me?? just asking because in desciption these refer to bass and mid being more 'controlled' which painkillers don't mention

  • A set of these is obviously good for tight chuggy/dejent metal. But can anyone tell me if they are good for a Neoclassical/Modern Metal lead player? Those are two very different styles I know but are aftermaths too hot to get the articulation and fluidity you need for Neoclassical?

  • Wait... This is a PASSIVE pickup?

  • @paperbed

    Yeah because active pickups suck

  • @WoWintosh Hey man, that's uncalled for. Active pickups are great for some types of tone.

  • @WoWintosh Only the emg 81 sucks.

  • @paperbed

I'm not that surprised. This sounds too full of color to be active to me.

  • @paperbed I lol at metal kids that think active's are the only way to go. Blacks outs and emgzzzz brehhh

  • @paperbed yep!

  • @paperbed Are they? I've been wanting to get Bare Knuckles, but I've been putting it off because I can't figure out if they're passive or active.

  • @Seandude223 They're all passive.

  • @AdariUK Oh my god, thank you. I'm totally getting a set of Nailbombs now.

  • Haha they use a Periphery song to demonstrate their pickups.

  • @thisismy1strodeo the demo was done by Misha

  • @ILuvIbanezGuitars Yeah I know. That is how he rolls. It is all the opening track on their new EP.

  • Now there are several demo's on them. They aren't cheap, that was my point back then. Tim Mills at Bare Knuckle is first rate. He will help you with what you are looking for. Describe the guitar, body and neck woods, musical taste, and his direction comes out very spot on. I highly recommend anyone to email him. They are built with such quality. The sound, like no other in my opinion. He recommended the Aftermath to me since I was running a single hum bridge and needed alot. . He was so right.

  • I don't focus on this "djent" thing. I didn't mean that comment in a bad way whatsoever. You are 100% right, it's the crazy clarity. I now have one in a custom single hum Cantrell'ish guitar. Its brutal. It snaps so hard. Overdriven, clean, whatever. It always is so damn clear. I mean that in a good way. I had some of the first Invader pickups. Heavy stuff. I still have them in several guitars. These Bare Knuckles are just so very clear and heavy, such "snap". I'm so impressed with the Aftermath

  • anyone knows if this awesome pickup will fit my 6 stringed gibson les paul studio?? i really need this pickup xD

  • i need this in my life.

  • @TheWildcatWarrior THAT'S TIGHT!!!

  • yup...getting this and the coldsweat for my 7 :P

  • i knew misha did this before i read the info hahaha

  • This is Misha?

  • @IMHOLUKE It is. It says in the video, at about 0:55

  • well....Misha's got me sold. all the other demos i heard so far were a let down honestly but, this is nice. hopefuly they will do some alnico variants. ceramic's opkay in the bridge for me but, yeah. I guess i could nailbomb the neck.

  • @diesect33 the aftermath neck pup DOES have an alnico V mag

  • @mopheadthe3rd okay. I'll stil probably go nailbomb though. I'm thinking about going mor efor the cold sweat in the bridge at this point anyway. this pickup hasn't really done it for me in the clips as much. hard to say when you can't really test them before buying here in the states. or at least where i am anyway.

  • @mopheadthe3rd in general though i still prefer alnico magnets PERIOD. so again, some alnico variants would be nice, as in both neck AND bridge. the cold sweat i like either way but, this one doesn't really knock my socks off.

  • Djent

  • Yes! My beloved band Periphery is getting their name out there! When this video started I nearly cried out of joy.

  • Strong 'Meshuggah' influence... especially from 0:35 onwards... not a bad thing. Good tone too, more importantly.

  • When the song kicked in I was like .. "Damn this sounds an awful lot like Periphery"

Then I saw Misha in the credits :D

  • The 1 guy who "disliked" this video probably crapped his pants when he heard metal and was pissed so he "disliked".

  • I am building a single pickup guitar around the Aftermath. I would like to demo it on You Tube with some help from a couple friends. A vetran bluesman/picker for some cleans and a metal shredder that attends MIT in Hollywood. Also myself probably doing my usual cat stuck in a car fan belt riffs. We are going to use a Carvin V3 half stack and a Twin Reverb for some cleans and a bit of dirt and a Kerry King Marshall . Whats the best microphone and recording set-up that wont put me in bankrupsy?

  • Tighter than a 12 year olds pussy.

  • can i buy them here in the US?

  • Tighter than ant ass.

  • haha the pickup is cool and all but the song is FUCKING SICK!!!!

  • @warmothguitarist scales and phrasing is theory

  • the song in the beginning sounds like periphery

  • @iLikechevelle cuz its played by misha from periphery :)

  • Put some of these in my Ibanez today and it's balls finally dropped. \m/

  • Comment removed

  • @WarmothGuitarist Hope your'e not talking about Misha.

Bulb definitely did not skip the learning of chords, scales, or phrasing techniques. Also, he's a grown man. Ibanez more than likely SENT him an 8 string.

  • Comment removed

  • @WarmothGuitarist who are you to tell to someone how to play guitar. some of the best guitar players are self taught and even admitted to not knowing any theory. their is no unorthidox way to play guitar. let these "kids" play however they want.

  • Sticking some of these bad boys in my RG7321. Can't wait until they arrive!

  • shoulda made it go star wars style

  • Question: Will this fit an Ibanez RGA8?

  • @OpulenceOfKnowledge Please check out the website for any queries ! For your question go to the 'Dimensions' page. Cheers !

  • @BKPickups How does the Aftermath sound in an all mahogany/ebony fret board? Guitar is a schecter blackjack c-7 and i'm wondering if its as good at death metal/progressive metal as say a ceramic warpig set.

  • @OpulenceOfKnowledge yes, they will. i own a rga8...

  • @OpulenceOfKnowledge it's not a direct replacement due to t he size of the EMG's in the RGA8 however I've heard that you can get an EMG cover and hide the pickup underneath, it'll look like you have EMGs but you really have BKP's in it.

  • @OpulenceOfKnowledge RGA8 has active EMG's in it the casing for EMG is gigantic in comparison to a passive pickup however I heard you can get the EMG covers and put a passive pickup underneath the cover even though it looks like you have an active you'll have that BKP tone and you can tell your friends that it's a custom EMG made for you ; -)

  • @OpulenceOfKnowledge If they do you need to change all your pots. Going from active to passive requires you to change all your electronics otherwise it will sound like poop. That would suck to spend 350 on a set of amazing pickups and have it sound horrible!

  • @OpulenceOfKnowledge they make an 8 string model. im 99.99999999999999% sure i just saw a video for it.

  • Is djent the sound that starts at 1:03 or the one at 1:10? I still don't get it xD The tight one or the loose one

  • @NoaOno It's all djent, It's the metallic quality.

  • @nekros729 I see

  • @NoaOno the djent is at 1:03. at 1:10, its a "prowl"

  • @NOTHINGTOSEEtheband Dude you're my hero. Took me 4 months. Finally I know the meaning of the onomatopoeia (100% wrong spelled) of DJENT. I'm gunna go djent some on my 20 watt fender amp laaawl. :)

  • @NoaOno please for the love of god dont over use the word djent, and remember that it's not a genre. I'm not a douche

  • @NoaOno thank you, and please for the love of god dont over use the word djent, and remember that it's not a genre. I'm not a douche.

  • @NOTHINGTOSEEtheband I have since I first heard the word Djent known that it was an onomatopoeia not a genre. Why would you be a douche..?

  • @NoaOno Well some may look at my statement as smarty pants like which is associated with douchery. It's what ever.

  • Comment removed

  • @NOTHINGTOSEEtheband It's been long enough that if you still think that "djent" is only a onomatopoeia, you need to grow up. I will call the genre "djent", and I don't give a fuck who cares.

  • @JonathanChunPrevenge cool story bro

  • @NOTHINGTOSEEtheband i'm glad you see it that way sun o)))

  • @JonathanChunPrevenge Sunn ))) like the band ?

  • @JonathanChunPrevenge Sunn o ))) like the band ?

  • @SourDieselG13Haze yeah, it's pronounced "sun" though :P

  • What a Djentleman of a pickup.

  • @Beenyad hahaha, brilliant!

  • Getting this pickup will not give you Misha's tone. The axe fx will if you know how to tweak it. A lot of the tightness is just the noise gates and compressors obviously.
