  • My favorite recording of this work has always been a recording done in 1939 by Jascha Heifetz and The Boston Symphony Orchestra under Serge Koussevitzky; generally I'd just listen to other performances of the Brahms and then just shut them off.

    This time I listened to the whole thing; not only is Ms.Vähälä terrific, the orchestral part was also superbly done by Mr. Vasquez and The Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra; all most excellent.
