I think I have a idea how the 2nd one works. The A.I in the game is set for all the different race courses so I'm guessing that codes puts in the A.I code from a different course (to the one your on)

Thats a likely explanation. It could simply cause the AI to swerve from the outside wall to the inside wall though.
