  • ... for a minute there i thought i was in southern California listening to some surf music by Dick Dale.

  • this remembers me of the VENTURES!

  • Excelente!!!!!!

  • wow sounds nice :)

  • Fuck yeah! How about a Children of Bodom version, eh?

  • Sininen kitara on Flying Finn by Matti Nevalainen.

  • @rollinrudi Sen kuulee mikkien soundeista.

  • Loistava biisi! Mikä ihme tuo sininen soolokitara on?? Mahtavat soundi! 10+!

  • i would have never expected adults like these to get into stuff like this

  • @xxSyphenxx Why not? As timomastosalo explains below, this is quite old finnish song - what is the problem with modern bands making their own versions?

  • Lead Guitar reminds me of Viikate.

  • Rautalanka soi mahtavasti.. Jatkakaa samaan malliin, niin saadaan Suomesta vielä rautalangan luvattu maa.

  • Rautalanka soi tosi mahtavasti.. Olen digannut rautalanka musiikkia siitä lähtien, kun kuulin Shadowsin Apachen ekan kerran radiosta.

  • Great !!!!!

  • Nevalainen kyllä osaa tehdä kitaroita! Itellä on parissa kitarassa hänen tekemät mikit, enkä vaihda!

  • Mahtavaa, melkein yhtä hyvä kuin Yö.

  • Surf is good! Polkka is good!

  • Sininen kitara on Flyingfinn by Matti Nevalainen, Tampere

  • The sound of the guitar makes it sound like an old American Western song....it's played well but I don't think the sound suits this song....I just think of Western or even the Beach Boys I see surfing in California not an old Finnish song.

  • The old one was 'a country song'

    -meaning countrySIDE song.

This translates that idea to USA.

In UK it should be a local folk version.

Melody is so old, that instrumental is the most correct version. Words were given to it in the 1930's. The orig. words don't exist anymore. If there was any(?)

  • @IronPriest82 In the early 60's the Finnish kids went nuts over surfrock and Shadows and Ventures -like instrumental guitar rock. These sort of arrangements of old finnish songs and schlagers in which lead guitar was playing the melody were very popular. The style was dubbed as "iron wire" or "rautalanka" in finnish referring to electric guitar's metal strings.

Nowadays there are few groups out there driving on that tradition.

    Awesome Rautalanka Rules.

  • @rollinrudi Matti makes great quitars for real vintage sound enthusiasts!

  • This is really cool.

To bad for "The Shadows". They could made a hit with this.

  • @Miguelito174 I think Finnish rautalanka, which translates, iron wire, sometimes barbed wire (the later is a kind of mocking name), doesn't compare to Shadows, cause Shadows sound much more clean and soft. Finnish rautalanka is played with rock touch, but still almost clean sound. Songs are usually written in minor and these old folksongs are recipe you cannot miss with. :-) They sound sad, but that's why there is rock attitude behind :) Finnish people like sad music, when they are happy.

  • @NesteHukka2 ...but still, Shadows propably started it all. It just developed to a bit different. Many bands play Shadows covers within gigsets.

  • EPIC. I would SO spin a leek to this.

  • oh~~nice work, i like it~
