  • Hey. I'm a neurotypical teenage girl with the best Aspie Mum and a wonderful high-functioning Autistic little brother, and this song affects me just as much as anyone on the Autistic Spectrum. Living with two people on the Autistic Spectrum has made me more mature than most of my peers, more self-sacrificing, and more understanding of those who are different. Autism affects more than just the Autistic. Thumbs up for everyone, neurotypical or Autistic, living with Autism! :)

  • @HaiAllison17 Hey If no One Is Normal Where All Different But If Want The Name For A Person Withiout Autosm Are Aspergers Syndrome Its Called "Neuro-Typical", I Have Aspergers Syndrome, But I Hate Saying That Long Name So I Just Call It Aspie, So Im An Apie And Love Other Aspies xxx :)

  • Thank you so much for this, Scott. I have a son who I love dearly, who has severe autism and struggles to communicate with us. Not being his birth mother, I have only been with him for the past few years, and he is almost a teenager, so I feel I have missed so much. He and I communicate quite well despite the fact that he only speaks one phrase. Your song hit home very deeply. Thank you for the extra infusion of hope. Jennifer Iacono

  • <3 IMAGINE WHAT GOD WILL SAY TO YOU SOMEDAY--- WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT <3 MY SON'S RECOVERING ONE STEP AT A TIME :)GOD'S LITTLE MIRACLES FB

  • Your an inspiration and you have such a beautiful voice! Keep up the good work!

  • Scott, I grew up, helping various mentally disabled persons, with various challenged in life overcome their issues and help them be a better person. What you have done, is truely remarkable, and you have for sure broke free of any chains that may have binded you. Best of luck and respect from all the way in the USA.--Josh

  • I caught the end of autism file - haven't seen it before. Got straight onto utube and have listened to this video 3 times in a row. I have a son who was 4 at diagnosis of Aspergers and a husband who was diagnosed at the grand old age of 52. As you can imagine AS is a huge part of our lives and hearing the wordsof this song sung with such emotion have moved me to tears - thank you so much..

  • Wow...this really touched me. It has me in tears. My wonderful 8 1/2 year old daughter was diagnosed w/Autism at the age of 18 mos. It's been a challange but like everything else, knowledge is power! It's essential for us as parents and siblings to get the word out! This song speaks volumes! I love it!

  • Im so glad I found this, my younger brother has autism and ive never fully understood it or understand how he feels. This is amazing <3

  • Hey Scott, I think your amazing, im glad you had anoth confidance to go on x factor.

    Weldone, your gifted.:)

  • hey Scott I have the same problem as you do

  • Thank you Scott- a point of view is a gift. Raising the awareness of the value to imagining what its like to be another - is a wonderful offering. I help kids of all ages with challenges like ADD, ADHD, Aspergers or any label or challenge. Everyone can overcome and excel. Seeing through other's eyes realizing their answers lie within them is my first step in helping - thank you for expressing that need in song so well.

  • Hi folks, had some queries as to the music quality on the video. For some reason, on upload the quality has lessened somewhat, so the volume is slightly lowered and the overall sound quality is diminished. Sounds fine on the computer though.. strange.

Please note that digital downloads (through iTunes, Amazon, etc) of 'Through My Eyes' are of a far superior quality and do not suffer from this issue.

Thank you all for your support and wonderful comments :)

  • @ScottJamesUK , hi Scott, this is incredibly beautiful and the depth of feeling comes through clearly. you have a very gifted voice. keep up the fantastic work

  • @ScottJamesUK

so beautiful. Thank you for being you!

  • @ScottJamesUK .. YOU James are truly inspirational!!!!! You have such an amazing voice that hits right to the heart....NEVER stop singing.....

  • @ScottJamesUK

Hey Scott, you are right, people have heard nothing unless they download the single. For such a small 'donation', people can support Autism Awareness as the words ring through their ears. You are amazing Scott and the high scores in numbers who have listened to you, simply prove that. The comments alongside. Keep it up, you are a gift in yourself, people need to hear you, hopefully in concert soon! Happy New Year!! xx

  • How did he know what i've wanted to say to people for sixteen years? I almost gave up a year ago because nobody was like me, no one knew what i go through everyday, and i couldn't find the words that would make them understand. All i got was meaningless sympathy and pity, and it meant nothing. The one person in this world most important to me, who makes me feel like i finally belong in the world, was the one who saved my life. I love you Nick. We'll get trough this together. Thank you.

  • Beautiful song!! My daughter is an Aspie & this truly touches your heart. Thank you for sharing. :)

  • I burst into tears after watching this too. After being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at 10 years old & now 30, these lyrics define my life as an Aspie during every day of my life. People have often mocked me or rejected me 'n so on because I am "not normal" which is a lonely feeling. Now living with a roommate & owning a Black Lab/English Setter mix while being a Believer in Christ, I no longer have the constantly lonely feeling anymore. Just shared this video on Facebook, mind you :)

  • beautiful song my son has austism also severest of them all . this does put a smile on my face that are some that surpass this and move forward :) beautiful song ty fo sharing.. very emotional song its a difficult struggle but god gives up what we can handle and have support around u helps and people to listen when u have no where to turn so there is hope ty for sharing l ove it;Z)

  • Very touching song...my son has autism and i know the struggle it can be but with the time, love, and understanding it worth seeing the smile on his face when he accomplishes something that may seem small to many but it a big step for him.

  • Beautiful, Scott! I'm adding this to my youtube channel and FB group. :) Blessings!

  • Please have a listen to my original song Far Far Away and let me know what you think. It was inspired by my son and autism. Cheers!

  • really liked this song makes me feel so much better about myself! :)

  • We need more autism awareness. My daughter is autistic and going away to college this year. Going to live on her own. She's taught me humanity, and perseverance, and acceptance. Not to be so quick to judge. If you met her, you might think she's just beautiful and aloof, perhaps rude. But she has autism, and her achievements, which seems basic to her peers, like moving out on her own and attending college, to us, are triumphs.

But it's so hard to be her.

  • @Mslistening1 it is but at least she has good supportive parents. When she goes to college, she will need support from you guys more then ever especially if shes going mainstream as their might not be people who will understand her (just talking from experience)

  • fighting back tears hearing this song. Scott you are truly amazing and god bless you! You are giving so many of us hope. Keep up the amazing work!! :)

  • you'ree amazing man! your my idol, keep it up :)

  • this is a song that i just bought because of the reason that it touches my heart in a certain way. i am 21 and i am autistic and in my fourth year of collage because my family believed in me and kept telling me i could be successful, this song describes what i feel and what other autistic people feel a well. great job scott!!!!!!

  • I'm autistic. I also have Asperger's. I don't have it bad enough to have medication for it, but there are times where I feel like I need it. I personally think it has gotten worse as I have gotten older. But this song hits hard, & it lets "normal" people know that we don't want the pity & tears. All we want is to be understood & not pointed out as the weird kid. I've been put in that position before, & it doesn't feel good. This song is dedicated to us, <3

  • @HaiAllison17 yes it is dedicated to us. having autism is hard

  • @HaiAllison17 so have I been seen as the weird kid, but now i'm starting to realize that people that see me that way are just rude and don't really know me properly. Don't do what I did which is try and cover over my autism by copying how others interact so I would appear "normal" to the rest of the world. All it did was bring me frustration and unhappiness because I wasn't being my true self. Learn to love and accept your autism :) (easier said then done i know as i'm still working on this >.<)

  • @HaiAllison17 my son is in the same position. It gets tough when all the other kids call him stupid and avoid him or worse bully him. All he wants is for someone to accept who he is.

  • @SarahJ83 i am doing an assembly in my school about autism i am 13 an di have an older sister with autism i kno what it is like

  • I am 13 and I peomis to protect and love and understand my brother who has autisim

  • @asmile949 i am also 13 and have a sister with autism

  • My brother, my best friend, my inspiration, my family, the person i go to to talk to, has autism. And I will continue to hold his hand and protect my brother thow his who life when people put him down

  • I love it - beautifully sung! Keep up the great work.

  • I just have to add this to my Favourite. I love Brov.

  • Thrill bumps ~ I recently wrote a book about my incredible child Connor.

Look for Connor's Gift Embracing Autism in this new age. These magnificent people are changing the world for the better, one person at a time ~

  • Very good video. I am also amazed with Samantha E. I am a musician/singer/songwriter with Asperger's. I wrote 4 autism awareness songs; hope to soon get a YouTube post. I wrote many in concern over healthcare crisis in USA.

  • 1 person cant Imagine what it's like to be him

  • That's beautiful, and so meaningful. I love music and lyrics. It angers me to see so many talented people with so much to say getting zero coverage in the minastream. Because commercialism is all about forumluaic rubbish, money and squeaky clean or outrageously sexy kids being pushed forward as they are 'marektable'. Like X- Factor. I see more talent and meaning on the fringes.

  • I have a problem - I can't stop listening to this song, my mouse is drawn to the 'replay' button. =/ Ah well, there's far worse songs to have on repeat. ;) xx

  • This is just beautiful. My 8 year old son Angel was just diagnosed with autism in December 2010. I"m so grateful we have so much support for each other throughout the world. Angel loves to sing. I will purchase this CD and I think he is going to love it.

  • Love this song. I have high functioning autism

  • Love the song.....it really touch me because my 5year old son has autismo.....Amo esta cancion

  • great voice

  • 1st heard this song in 2009 when it was sung at the Asia Pacific Autism Conference in Syndey Australia......it brought 1600 people to silence......love the song penned by a mum

  • omg this song is so about my son.. He has aspergers but he can't talk that well he only speaks 20 words,. He is so angry because he can't tell you what he feels so he is severely aggressive.. I wish alot of people who stare at my son when he is having a temper tantrum could hear this song.. God Bless this song actually is making me cry because it is so true

  • This song quieted my soul......I felt still.........this is the world of my nine year old son. I wish for everyone in the world be still if even for just a moment and imagine that tomorrow they awoke as someone else who struggles like this......For just one moment. Thank you for this. Ill keep it an treasure it for times when I am frustrated and hopeless......

  • This song quieted my soul......I felt still.........this is the world of my nine year old son. I wish for everyone in the world be still if even for just a moment and imagine that tomorrow they awoke as someone else who struggles like this......For just one moment.

  • WOW!! through tear stained eyes I would like to say what an amazing song for others to hear and maybe understand Autism a bit better, my 15 year old has Autism and the lyrics really hit me, I always tell him to reach for the stars and they will come down to meet him half way, looks like the stars have come down for you too Scott, I wish you every success with this single & I hope great things for your future too.you have a wonderful gift to share with the world so keep singing.x.x

  • @nikkinoo85 I know I too have a 14 year old with autism.I tell him the same thing. I teared up too when i heard this song. This song is so true too, no one relaly understands it unless they walk in those shoes and see things through their eyes or through a parents eyes of a child with autism.

  • @ooooo3131 life is a struggle at times, but I would'nt change him for the world, he is unique and I love him just the way he is, my struggle is made worse through ill informed ,ill mannered members of the public who think it's o.k to stare & make judgements because of his inability to conform to the publics expectations of "normal" behaviour, I hope Scott's song highlights Autism Awareness as acceptance is the key to the happiness of Autistic individuals and their Families.

  • @nikkinoo85 that's the reason why many of us get anxious, frustrated or upset because of the way others treat us. Just don't let them get to you, they are so not worth it, they are just rude. Just think your a great mum who has a wonderful son.

  • Beautiful song, I am crying....My son was diagnosed with Autism at age 23 months, and it has been a long 4 years. He is progressing so well, but every day is a struggle.

  • @TheDiefs diagnosing a child a only 23 months is ridiculous, they just stamped autism on him because there is no autism test for a 23 month old child

  • @TheDiefs I know how you feel. my daughter seemed normal her who infancy and she has just recently been diagnosed with ASD. I always knew she was different than other children her age but only thought it was cause she was born prematurely and she was just a little slower at acheiving the milestones as other babies. She's 4 years and 4 months old now, she just recently started talking and its still very difficult to understand her. This song is really hitting home to me. so beautiful...

  • @bbluhm25 sounds to me, your daughter was born with a gift ;)

  • wow scott, you have a beautiful voice and the song really moved me. I will definately be buying the cd and will probably wear it out listening to it over and over !!! You have a lot of talent Scott.

  • Your song is wonderful :D

  • Well done Scott, I always believed you would have made it since I first saw you and heard your beautiful voice. I have a daughter with ASD and it's just an inspiration for her and others what you are doing. I have to dry my tears now, but, are tears of joy, as the song says,' I will get there...' and I know she will... Thank You and never give up. All the best to you and your family

  • Thank you so much for this son Scott as so many people now realise what my son Matthew goes though. I love this song! Do you have a facebook page so I can become a fan? All I have to say is one more time is THANK YOU. Thank god for you and your wonderful song!

  • @2Bindy

  • Please post this video to your profile on myspace or facebook. Send it to friends. We need to change the way people think and the lyrics in this song allow insight that might just lead to more understanding and less prejudice. The two year battle that Scott has endured to actually have the courage to release this is truly inspirational. It's never too late to make changes? x

  • Scott you inspired me to be a better person and to have the courage to achieve the things I have and to make my dreams a reality so I'll always do what I can to support you

  • What a beautiful song Scott, yes it did make me cry ! My son is 11 and has only been diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome for 14 months and it is difficult getting people to accept him and help him .

  • Thanku Scott for letting the world know that not all Autistic's don't speak!! I am 22 and am a high functioning Autistic. I love this song, my son has Autism as well. I hope he will listen to this when he is old enough to understand.

  • thank you scott for opening my eyes to autism awarenes

  • As the Mum of a child with an ASD the lyrics to this song make so much sense and helps to capture the world as he must experience it at times. Thank you so much to all involved.

  • Well, what can anyone expect other than sensational singing from sensational Scott! I am proud to be around you, always will be. You truly have made a difference for many families who live with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and those who don't; a positive impact that will take some of the barriers down for all. Please enjoy and share this video, comment asap and buy the track on 2 April 2011. Let us stamp out ASD stereotypes THROUGH MY EYES, THROUGH YOUR EYES, THROUGH OUR EYES? x
