People call them predators...however humans kill more people and animals in the name of either survival such as war or sport such as hunting to either eat the animal or put the horns or head on the wall...and you call animals the biggest threat to humans???
@NZtenga Yeah cute like Ted Bundy is cute. Haha, seriously I love bears, but I respect (that encompasses fear) them enough to know that a bear like that cannot be allowed to do what it does.
@NZtenga That bear had to go, most bears do not attack people like that, this is what is called a "problem bear", it obviously does not have the proper fear of humans and views them as prey, it has to be killed or it will just continue to kill or produce more problem bears. If a mother bear with cubs kills somebody for getting too close the rangers wont kill it, but a bear like this needs to be taken out. Sad situation but it has to be done, call it cute as it mauls you to death.

@Peopstup First of all, bears dont kill humans because they are territorial, they either kill them for food or because they startled or viewed them as a threat. So humans should just leave all areas where they are bears? Perhaps we should just all congregate into the large cities and never go camping or out into the wilderness.

@Peopstup I agree. Not that people shouldn't STOP camping though, but still be aware that bear attacks can and do occur. If they want to be 100% safe in the wildness they should just camp in a zoo or something.
they really shouldn't kill the bears. It isn't their fault that people were camping in their territory. The bear was just protecting her cubs, and was probably very hungry. It would be so much better if they just moved them to a deeper part of the woods, farther away from society. :( I feel bad for the people, but more so for the bears. People are taking up too much space, hunting all their food-what are they suposed to do, die all good and quiet?

The rangers are smart enough to know if it was protecting its cubs or not and if that was the case they dont kill it, this bear was attacking campers in their sleep. Did you even friggin listen to the story? You feel more sorry for the killer bear then for its 3 victims, one man died, you need to learn about the sanctity of human life. People like you honestly make me sick. Your worldview is very shallow.
Interesting I stumbled upon this video randomly. I stayed at this camp ground the night before this attack. We were warned that a grizzly had been spotted a mile away not long ago.
