  • Accually the ride was rebuilt a few times before they came up with the "mister twister".

  • Believe me....The original coaster was WAY better. I grew up with the park, and worked there in 1983. The original location had great old atmosphere. I totally avoid the downtown location.

  • Wierd, seems like Twister II in greyscale...

  • ive just made a record called mr twister, come check it out

  • many parts of this look scarier than the twister 2, for example, the tilt on the turns as opposed to the verticle turns.

  • @piekid666666 yeah this ride was the best. they should have re-located it in stead of making a coaster "based "off it. or if they built a new one they should have at least build it verbatum to John allen's 1065 specifications. The only people who have made a decent ride based off this was Knobels, and theirs was strongly based off the original 1965 plans but they had to modify it to fit a smaller site

  • I just found this POV and I've been riding the Knoebels Twister for many years, so it's very interesting to see the differences between the two. Pretty much aside from the split lift hill (great tension-builder!) the ride looks almost exactly the same except for the fact that the Knoebels' version is a mirror-image e.g. you enter the helix at the top right instead of the left and the tunnel is in a different spot (right before the brake run).

  • wow my 8 years brother to the mr twister and he was laughing and a little bit screaming

  • @ranaakbar1 Wow your very lucky to have gone on this while it was still up! I WOULD HAVE KILLED FOR IT! lol

  • Twister 2 is horrid. A piece that never should have been built....the Wildcat and Mr. Twister should have been moved.

  • Is this the first one or 2nd? I rode the 2nd a lot but I can't tell

  • I effing love this ride!!!

  • Was that fun I like the mind eraser better than both but The twister 2 is pretty cool. It would be cool if they would have just kept that version but the new one is pretty sick.

  • well they are the same thing but mr.twister got old so they tore it down and renamed it twister 2.

  • well twister 2 is a little bit different but it is about the same. And twister 2 is getting pretty old too

  • So, can somebody tell me, what exactly was it that was so much better on the Original compared to the Twister II? I only rode on the Mr. Twister once and i was a little kid and don;t remember much of it... I still don't think the new one is half shabby!

  • @YoshiMan38

i bet they were both cool

  • My first coaster! Awesome footage. Thanks.

  • This version of the Twister looks like so much more fun than the new version at the new park. I wish I could have riden this one.

  • WELL GUESS WHAT......

    They have the Twister II

    (II meaning 2)

and i saw 1 difference on this ride

so u will have just as much fun!

go to elitches in denver colorado

thats where i go every summer!

  • they re-did this at KNOEBELS in Elisburg in PA. that ride is kick ass though its a lot different then this one, at KNOEBELS, its called "Twister"

  • This ride was SO much better than the pathetic recreation at the new Elitch's. It's still hard to understand why this ride was not duplicated exactly at the new location.

  • dude, you are the MAN! thank you so much for this video. You probably have the only full video of this ride in existence and the only time i ever remember my father actually scared. Now if only i could find video or film clips of the old big dipper at spring lake park in OK City.

  • My first coaster! Thanks for sharing. Any footage of the Wildcat? Haunted House? I miss the old Elitch Gardens...

  • Me, too. The memories growing up...my first coaster - loved how rough riding it was!

  • o_o Looks painful

  • Do you have any idea what the original song for this clip is? You know, the jazz one. I like that song..............

  • You got this footage from Roy Brashears' Roller Coaster Weekend, didn't you!? How did you get the video to digital format? By the way, I think your footage of old parks is great!

  • Yes this clip comes from the video Roller Coaster Weekend, it has a lot of really good stuff in it. I just found the video in a box and probably have not watched it in over 10 years. I have all my Super 8 film and video transferred to digital at homemoviedepot com

  • Man, I wish I had access to old movies like you do.
