  • Based on this video, It appears that the moment of identification happens before they land on their split step, so they can pivot before landing if they need to.

  • @quickfingerz Exactly right!

  • Your videos are great! I'll be trying out for my high schools tennis team at the end of the month (I played last year, but I haven't had real tennis lessons). This is great stuff to refresh my memory on and hopefully have an advantage against the others. Thanks again!

It's like a one-footed split step. Once executing a split step the first foot to be set would be the balance for the outside foot to move. But sometimes I do this mostly when I split step I start jumping with one feet then I land with my other feet or depends on direction of the ball. so If the ball goes to the left and I started jumping using my right foot Immedietly I land with my left and start running.

Check the Video 2 of it. "lesson 2 of 3" or the thing you can do is that everytime before your partner hits be ready and start your split step. You'll notice if your late if the ball is already executed and your still on the air. so if you wanna time it correctly the best possible way is before he hits the ball or Halfway on swinging before hitting it you should start doing the split step then after he hits it your down and identify where the ball is
