However, when I lived in South Africa 1975 - 1981 (my dad had a job in the Natal Mercury & the Daily News), Durban was a beautiful and peaceful place. I tell my children and friends about what a wonderful place it was and stories of me growing up there. I have such fond memories of a beautiful place. However, it seems a world apart from the Durban I see on news reports etc like this. Such a shame.
This news is a bit biased like some Australians. My reason are this: Following the police will obviously take you to the bad places. Every city/town has a bad place and from the clip i saw, this news reporter only went to the bad places. And that guy that said "Durban is the most dangerous place in SA has clearly haven't been to Jo'burg." Yes I admit crime is high compared to other parts of the world and yes down town does look and feel like a township nowadays lol.
