Now this is in bad taste. Not even a cartoon version of a Minstrel Show was considered correct by the 1950s. I doubt that it was distributed widely across the country for obvious reasons.

Most of us grew up in tolerant families who taught equality. If you grew up back then, though, or if your family has kept the wounds or the hatred alive, then you're naturally going to find it offensive. Tried explaining this to some 40-somethings once. Like talking to a wall.
