@DivergentButton You know NOTHING about the BMW 3 series and have obviously never driven one. The reason I own a BMW is because I'm a true car enthusiast and BMWs are pure drivers' cars. It delivers the BEST performance, handling, road feel, luxury and practicality of any car all rolled into one. It's all about form following function.

@demoskunk lol BMW does a good job marketing and their products matches what they say most of the time. The chance of an idiot driving one is just as high as any others, except an idiot can express their stupidity more with a faster car. It's consider a luxury for average consumers, but it's rather basic for high-end consumers. Owning a Civic or M3 or F430 doesn't make you a better driver. I can understand why people praise BMW because of it's price vs value, yet it's all personal preference.

i think the rear lights look OK, but the rest of it looks like a 2nd year degree level clay model concept...its horrid! i would say this since i just put an order in for an M3 edition, but seriously, i dont think its very easy on the eyes.

I think the current 3 series marks a high-point in the evolution of the car. In the future we are likely to see priorities change in response to enviromental issues. While I am looking forward to the next generation twin-turbo six in the M3, I am less optimistic about the future of the regular 3 series cars. My concern is they will be dumbed down much further and carry the burden of an increased enviromental focus.

I've always wondered why the 328/335 engines were so "special." Does anyone remember the Toyota Supra? The Lexus GS300? 3 Liter I6. 230ish HP NA and w/ turbos about 320 HP. Sounds like BMW is 15 years behind on this engine...

Have you seen the CTS interior? It's every bit as high-quality as anything from BMW or Infiniti, and it's nicer than the Benz C350 by a long shot.

thats the reason of the lack of hp. diesel power comes from torque.

I dont know a petrol twin turbo v6 from bmw.

the 335d offers a fairly good fuel compsumption and quite a lot power.

Check the performance stats...the 335i is something like a full second faster to 60 than the CTS 3.6 DI, even though though it gives up .6 litres of displacement to the Caddy. The twin turbos are tuned to kick in at different RPMs, so there's no turbo lag and peak torque is at 1400 RPM. It's a killer engine. Maybe if Cadillac could do something similar to its DI engine, it'd have a neat "middle" product between the base CTS and the CTS-V. Sell it for 55K, and they'd BMW a run for its money.

e36 has the bold german styling,fun ride, and an AMAZING interior (im getting this one soon)

the e46 had looks that are in between a muscle car and a japanesse tuner

and the e92 .. well we all know the styling, the engine, all the technology
