I am constructing a similar organ out of pvc and clothespins. I want to use the clothespins as piano keys, but I'm not sure how to cut off the air with them. I tried aquarium tubing, but the clothespins aren't strong enough.

This was a course titled "Instrument Construction" offered in the Sound Dept. at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where experimental and interdisciplinary approaches encouraged to using sound as a material for making art. From what I see, tubes should have been placed in reverse order to make it more like organ or piano - the longest tube (with the lowest tone) on the left side and the shortest on the right.

for some bizarre reason, this reminds me of the first (and last) time I ever gargled. Someone told me my cold would go away if I gargled water, so I tried it, choked, spilt my glass of water, slipped over on the wet slate, dropped the glass (which smashed) smacked my head on the slate, passed out and woke up 10 minutes later with blood pissing out of my arms from the broken glass.
