Hey man if you want to improve your boot times and overall performance on your ocz core 2 64 gig ssd then let me know. I found tweaks to align the partition and a simple auto tweaker which makes vista compatible with these drives. My system boots after 3 bars with no delay so Id say about 10 sec boot, if I include the bios would be a 24 sec boot.
@chriseather321 actually ssd is best for OS you can ask any PC tech place, they all told me the same thing, just like what i have seen here on the net. i have a kingston v series 64gb ssd its not as fast as the newer ssd's but not as slow as the first ones either. i can say its much quicker than booting from a raptor 10k which i now use for my games and the ssd for my OS. i havent had a prob yet, and i love the setup. then again, im using windows 7 64 bit :P
the reason that the core series is slow, is because of the buffer memory. if you have 2 of these in raid, then you'll get the full potensial for each drive.
No Windows OS can currently use SSDs properly. The disk just can't do the heavy duty read-and-write that the system needs. Even Win2000 hangs on simple tasks like opening the Start menu. We'll see about Win7...
SSDs are currently only good for storing huge files. If you work in multimedia they are a godsend. I would NEVER, EVER use one as my system disk.
Aw, that's too bad. W7 is supposed to perform better with SSD's. I just bought a 60 GB one about 5 minutes ago.. OCZ Solid Series 60GB. I hope it's good.
Sry, but OCZ Core is bull. Slow as heck, even slower than laptop-drives and uses more power. Also dies after a few months of Windows-usage and has random write access times of up to 2 seconds...
Lol man did you check my video? My boot has all my programs and drivers, including catalyste control center, which normally really slows boot times down. Check it out. I used some tweaks from ocz website to align the drive
noooooooooooooo, esto esta muy lento, la mia es un notebook core 2 duo t2390 disco comun de 160 gb sata2 samsung y memoria 2 gb ddr, me tardo en bootear vista en solo 40 segundos!!!

My Gskill falcon makes my system boot more than twice as fast, but its best for launching programs itunes was 9 seconds down to 2.5 for instance

You're right! Definately too long! Try XP - goes a lot faster.

My 1 year old MTRON MOBI 32GB SSD loads vista a lot faster. I'm wondering if it due to your system specs or is OCZ's SSD slower?
OliverBGD 3 years ago
i think mines quicker than that just with 2x500Gb drives in a Striped Array.. whats the rest of your spec?
