Thank you for actually saying Goodeid, I was looking for the pronunciation. It is great to see that you are maintaining them in existence. I have been thinking of doing this in California. It helps me to talk about it, if I can talk about the project if I can pronounce the name.
how do they breed? I mean how do they fertilize the eggs? Guppies, swordtails, platies & mollies have gonopodiums but I think that this species doesn't have one... :-)
It doesn't, but in the males the first rays of the anal fin are pointing forward and they channel the milt at the vent of the females. They get up close and personal, but it is a split second - very accurately timed! When you see these fish dance you get the idea of the practice it takes.
FASCINATED me.......I never KNEW there were so MANY of my brothers and sisters out there who were SOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo talented.(Thanks to youtubeI now realize this)But I still cannot believe you are simply a regular British chap as opposed to some Russian Jew immigrant with extraordinary mimicking (and singing) ability. Thank you for your understanding. :)
Is this you too? The gentleman from the 'Font of every blessing' video and also the Sandy video and also the Amish tourism-like video? Please let me know. You've done something to me. :)

@richleebruce This line came to a sad end because of electrical equipment failure, but it is well worth keeping on a Goodeid breeding project.
