A new error happened to my PS3.

When I tried to play Tekken 6, a message flashed that all my trophies for Tekken 6 were gone and told me to press the PS button to exit.

I exit the game to the XMB, checked my trophies and found out that my GoW Collection trophies were gone too.

When I tried playing T6 again, it installed the trophy list, but all my trophies were gone for good.

Anyone else had this problem?

It's not really a biggie, but I hope it won't happen again.

My PS3 flashed a message that it was overheating then the screen went black. The power button flashed a blinking red light then I pulled the plug off.

I plug the system after a few seconds and took out my game disc.

Will it be ok?

I put it near the edge of the table, so it has lots of open space.

I got my system back though and it works fine.

The shop said they weren't sure what caused it to overheat.

I read an article on heating problems on the slim (usually at the bottom). Other people placed the console on 4 wooden cubes on each of the PS3's sides to let the bottom have less contact on the surface it sits on.

Haven't done it yet though, but I'm planning to give it a try.

The newer system (slim) does not play ps2 games Because it doesnt have any support for the software, I have heard rumors saying that the system may have an update for the software so that you can play the ps2 games, but who knows? we will just have to find out see if it's true.

the game saves are smaller than 1 MB. I know only one game you have to install, and that's BioShock, a very silly game. I thing you don't have to install 99,999% of all ps3 games.

Funny you say that, because I thought this thing looked EXTREMELY ugly at first glance, but after a while of looking at it it's a nice look to me now that I have actually seen it in person. I might get it because the failure rate has supposedly decreased with the better energy efficiency and all. I do agree with both of you guys partially, although i believe the reason why they did not make it glossy or shiny is because they wanted a more casual and slick-appealing look due to the fact its a completely new model and its pretty slim they think by retaining the shiny look would not suit the design so i guess they made it casual and gave a classical look.
