  • That's Oggy & The Cockroaches you were watching on an UHF/VHF portable television. LOL

  • That is cool. A friend of mine has worked for Sir Clive Sinclair on and off, over the past few years.

  • @thomasclarke,

Awesome ;) Sir Sinclair is a legend.

  • COME ON GUYS DONT BE IGNORANT THERE ARE A BUNCH OF LPTV STATIONS IN THE US ASWELL AS STILL ANALOG IN CANADA

  • MAKE A VIDEO; PLAY XBOX OR WII ON IT

  • is there a way to make it work now that the stupid digital thing is going on? all i can receive on mine is a bunch of channels in spanish.

  • Yes, if you have a digital receiver OR a cable tv service, most of these still output a series of channels in the old analog system & frequencies. The trick is to just connect it to the antenna with eg. an alligator clip.

  • Oh, just one more question. Does your FD-2 have an antenna input jack, so you could use an adapter to hook up a DVD player or whatever to it?

Also, do you know if the FD-20 has an input jack?

There is an FD-2 and an FD-20 on eBay, both are "Buy it Now", really good price. I'm trying to decide which one to get! The FD-20 is the older style that I like, but i'm not sure if it has an antenna input jack.

    Thanks!

  • can u sell that awesome device to me??

  • @swatguy555, hi - no, I collect these devices myself, so they're not for sale - BUT there IS hope for you guys who want to get one too, they're still fairly easy to get on eBay, especially the German version of eBay, you can use the same login as you may already have, and just check the German version of eBay for the device. Good luck!

  • How do you get a converter box hooked up to that?

  • If they have an input jack, you can use an adapter to connect it to the output of a converter box.

If it doesn't have an input jack, you can stick a wire in the output of the converter box, and wrap the other end of the wire around the antenna and tune into channel 3.

(The part of the wire you wrap around the antenna needs to be stripped care.)

  • BARE, not care. lol

  • That's really awesome! I want to get one of these second-hand someday. Are you in Canada by any chance?

  • @themaritimeman, No I'm in Denmark, but as I just told Swatguy555, you can fairly easily get one on eBay. Just be aware of the different country versions, A=American E=European, B=British system. ;)

  • Wow, thanks! I had no idea the letter meant the system it would work on!

You're right, there are tons of these on there! I almost bought an FD-10A a few days ago - I bid $25, but at the exact same time another guy bid $21, but he won! Huh! (There was about 3 seconds left when we both bid.)

  • I almost just won an FD-30A, but I was outbid at the last second. Dang!

I'll get one eventually, though. It really is pleasing at just how many of these there are on eBay. I'm mostly looking for either the FD-210, FD-30, and FD-20.

  • Well, eBay is a big place - and with millions of sellers all over the planet, you're bound to find something. It's also a good indicator of how "rare" an item really is.

  • I just won an FD-30A Yay!

The FD-30 is from 1984, it's the older style that's about 1.5x bigger than the FD-2, FD-3, or FD-10. The special thing is, it's both a TV and an AM/FM radio!

Plus, it comes with the original case, and there's not a scratch on it!
