ah ! i think i know what to build/save around the world; a metal or a protective force field or something :) (with oxygen of course, otherwise we can't breath)
This will happen again one day. An asteroid gave us life in the first place, it's only fitting that an asteroid takes it away from us too. It probably won't happen for another million years or so though.
Funny how a 'small' object like this destroys the whole surface of a planet with an amosphere while the massive Shoemaker Levy impact on Jupiter left just some black spots. It's like mankind these days like to see a catasrophic event even when a pebble hits the earth...
Earth is a small planet. Jupiter is larger than some small stars. Earth is made of rock and metal and thus has a surface. Jupiter is mostly atmosphere, with no surface.
for over 20 years that I, observes these comets, asteroids and comets ufo & Other dragged leave this cold white gasses emanating from a 100 000 kmh and UFO propulsion by acting from top to bottom this white light emitter has a frequency ulltra low 1 Hz at a speed of mach 2.8236 thousands, asteroids more than 2 km in diameter composed of oxide, titanium fragments, stoles that have exploded the way milky consists of 145000 stars dear friend
Hopefully long before any asteroids or comets come close to us, we humans will have evolved to a point where we can use our collective mental energies to push them away. :P
If you studied some geology you'd see that there is evidence for water on the Earth's surface even before the continents formed. The most ancient rocks found today in Greenland and South Africa (as old as 3.8 billion years) all formed in the presence of large bodies of water and it is presently accepted that even before life began, the Earth was covered by one massive ocean, dotted with many small islands.
how the hell can anything survive in an oven? i think the temp figure is slightly exadurated. the sea would boil and everything on earth would dies after an hour at 500 fahrenheit.
>1km asteroids are called Earth killers. Nasa's spaceguard survey has identified 700 out of the probably 1,100. So basically a 3000 foot asteroid would kill us all
That "little" asteroid had two things: a lot of mass and a lot of speed. As it slams into the earth, the energy of the impact melts vast amounts of the rock below it which is blasted up into the atmosphere like the splash of a brick thrown into a pool. Except /this/ pool has a lot of gravity pulling the cooling splashes back down with mean force. Its this ejecta that turns the impact from a nasty bruise to widespread devastation.
lol and the earth is not even a bowl, it looks like kind of ellipse --> bad clip
and the impact explosion is too heavy... it was devastating but not so devastating. the clip tries to explain that the whole north hemisphere was destroyed, what obvioulsy is false.
If it wasnt for comets we wouldnt be here.

If the meteor didn't hit, we would exist, BUT, we would have a hard time trying to survive daily t-rex attacks.

really?
u should think before saying nonsense
those "pebbles" made black "spots" that were bigger than the earth dumbass

hate it when you "know the Voice" but can't name the person narrating?
who is talking here?

@drumdude46 It sounds like Peter Coyote( famed narrorator) to me, and that would make sense. However, I'm not 100% sure if it is.

since when is an explosion big enough to escape the earths atmosphere
TheGFtrooper 1 year ago
@TheGFtrooper Since an impact with earth created the moon.....

the moon is our personal asteroid shield for if they dont get caught in saturn\jupiters huge gravitational pull.

that small asteroid can kill or destroy the whole world . . .
mysterios1000 2 years ago
Think of how fast it is traveling....
Now think about what they tell you about body-weight and item-weight during a car crash.
Add the two together and you should now understand why it would be so devastating.

there were no water on prehistoric earth!

no water in prehistoric earth. pre historic is before recorded history. first complex organisms were water-dependent.
