How awesome was this intro when you were a kid?? I remember rushing downstairs to tell my mam "JEAN MICHELLE JARRE IS PLAYING ON MY ATARI!!!" lol. Never had a clue what i was doing in this game, but loved it.
The two things I liked most about this game were the music and the hyperspace sequence. I probably spent more time warping between planets than anything else :D
I've been looking for this game for ages on youtube. I couldn't remember the name.
I could still remember the music before hearing it. I didn't realise it was Jean-Michel Jarre. I found a drawing I did when I was about 10 years old and it was of those aliens in the intro. I must've loaded the game loadsa times to copy it. What a game. Was hard as hell though from what I remember.
I think there is some emulation issues going on here, some of the samples are repeating when they shouldnt be, I used to play this on an Amiga 500 and it sounded a lot better.
They could really incorporate this awesome communications system into games of today. Instead of having specific "Good, neutral, evil" sentences to choose between you could freely make up sentences and truly choose unique paths to advance upon in the game.
Amazing sound track in this game which displayed the power the Atari ST had back in the day. Captain Blood was a pretty neat game I thought which had a really interesting way of communication integrated within the game.
WOW !!! Thanks for uploading
