The coolest think about this bike, is that Glover managed to win races and titles on it against a fleet of RC500 Honda Works bikes. One of the most under rated riders of the classic era.
He was always my favorite... Do you remember when all the Yamis were sold with the #1 already on the number plates... only thing I hated about Yamahas was having to peel off the whole number and backing to put my race number on... I switched to Kawis in 85 when yamaha came up with that terrible supsension idea and something with the power boost I believe... The 85's were dogs across the board..
I sold one of his JT jerseys autographed recently.
I have one incredible piece that I have kept for years. Its a lifesize cardboard standee his Wrangler series YZ250 with denim seat. Its HUGE. Its in near mint shape in original mailing box. Not one person can tell me where the standee was used at or for what. They werent shipped to dealers. Must have been for a show. Ive never seen another for sale.
@pressrolls I care. I purchased a 1983 Yamaha YZ490 just to make into a 1983 Broc Glover replica. I know he rode a Works OW500 that year but I can make it close to his 1985 Yamaha YZ490. Both Championship Bikes and both Championship Seasons.
my friends older brother had a 1982 yz 490......omg that bike had soo much power.......the guy he sold it to almost killed himself on it.
