Having read this comment I do respect the expressed personal point of view.
But to describe this unique wonderful religious symbol as " a thing "and that " it says everything about religion ', is inappropriate . Besides being a remarkable religious landmark , this mosque is a distinctive architectural site.
We were decanted off a cruise ship in Casablanca in March 2011. What a complete and utter dump it is. This mosque is the only thing in the city that is watertight by the looks of the rest of the place. The absurd thing is that every Moroccan resident had to pay an obligatory tax to help build this thing. They don't have enough schools, hospitals or roads but oh boy, they have a lovely big mosque ! Says everything about religion I suppose.
@JohnS1704 ???? it says that the gov (western backed) is spending money more for prestige than for its people. whats your point? what has the action of a governement to do with religion? did christianity force british people act like apes in spain and turkey? no. does christianity made your women so horny, so they make holiday in jamaica and other poor states? no. so dont mix nations and faith. i hope you are a young person, because i dont expect such childish comments by adults. regards
