Hey man, good shooting, i have the same bow, same draw, everything. I heard that if you apply string silencers you lose some power, can you tell a difference without them?
I just bought a 1973 Fred Bear Kodiak Magnum from ebay about two weeks ago and it is the finest shooting bow I have had the pleasure of shooting when it comes to small hunting bows. It isn't for anyone with a long draw, but 29 or less it is a wonderful bow and cheap.
i let my uncle hold my mattews compund bow it is set at 60 pounds, he dry fired it... i had a new string put on about 100 shots befor it happened and i was wonder if i am ok to shoot it again,i looked over every thing. i checked the string over and over there is no stretching or any kind of out of the ordanary. there is no cracks in the cams or limbs. please help me i am realy woried about it.
Long time shooter thinking about trying bow and want to do recurve. What brand of bow is that how much did it run you. Open for any info. thx! All the martin reviews seem to suck.
that is a martin x-200 .... 6 years ago it was like 2-300.... now its closer to 400... check out my BOW HUNTING CHANNEL.... ARROW SLING'N TV.... i cover some good bows for the money......
ps... this one in this vid IS FOR SALE! if interested just comment and ill get back....ty
I saw a martin cougar 11 compound bow for under 100$- should I jump on it???
Its in good condition but I don't know what accessories or arrow weights to use, can anyone tell me if this bow is strong enough for a 6 ft something 200 pound male who wants to take on nature? Can it kill the beast it was named for? LOL
thats sid.... i found him on a sugar cain tractor in thibodeaux louisiana, when he was a kitten... he sleeps and hangs with the dogs and follows me around the property like a dog! been part of the family for 10-11 years....
@tyonthefly What draw weight and what draw length do you have? I have a 55# X-200 and my draw is roughly 27" when I'm shooting bare handed. You use the same arrows I use with my compound, but I thought it would be over spined if I used them with my recurve.
my draw length is 28''.... 50lbs... i have since changed to easton 400's.... i use the 4560's for flu flu arrows now... the spin seems to be ok for my 50lb bows... ty
@tyonthefly The Easton St Epics? That's the same one I use for my compound, so if it works, then I won't have to buy any more arrows (I got plenty from a sale). I tend to shoot Easton Legacy 2018 with my recurves at the moment.
hey man i was just wondering what arrows you are using because i have the same bow but cant find any arrows that shoot right so if you could tell me all the info on what you are shooting thanks
the arrows im shooting in the vid are CARBON EXPRESS 4560'S... i get them at walmart , end of season for $3.50... they come with veins and i strip them and put on fletching... i have since switched to EASTON ST EPIC 400's with 3grain per inch inserts to add alot more mass weight... they fling and penitrate well... hope this helps... ty
Thanks man! I will be switching on and off with my compound and recurve for elk hunting this season. For deer season I will be using only the recurve. I uploaded a video of me shooting the martin hunter, you should check it out!
